Not all disabilities are visible.

Many people live with hidden disabilities, including brain injuries, chronic pain, neurological conditions, heart conditions, and other health challenges that may not be immediately obvious. A disabled parking space can make the difference between someone being able to access essential services safely or not being able to go out at all.

Before parking in a disabled bay, take a moment to think about who might need it.

Just because you can't see a disability doesn't mean it isn't there.

πŸ’™ Think before you park.

Can you believe we're already halfway through 2026? πŸ’™

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Headway Sussex so far this year. Whether you've donated, fundraised, volunteered, shared our posts, or helped spread awareness, you've made a real difference.

But there is still much more to do.

Every week, people living with brain injury attend our support groups across Sussex to find understanding, friendship, and hope. For many, these groups are a lifeline – helping to reduce isolation, rebuild confidence, and support recovery long after leaving hospital.

That's why our Campaign of the Year, **Keep the Doors Open**, remains such an important focus.

We are aiming to raise Β£15,000 to keep our support groups running to provide life-changing support in communities across Sussex: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/headwaysussexsupportgroupsneedyou

As we head into the second half of the year, we're asking for your help to keep the momentum going. Every donation, fundraiser, share, and conversation helps us continue supporting local people affected by brain injury.

Together, we can ensure that no one faces brain injury alone.

To support our Keep the Doors Open campaign, donate today or get in touch to discuss fundraising opportunities.

Thank you for helping us keep the doors open for those who need us most πŸ’™

πŸ’™ Carers Week 2026 πŸ’™

This week, we are celebrating and recognising the incredible unpaid carers who support loved ones living with brain injuries and other neurological conditions.

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also have a significant impact on your own mental health and wellbeing. Many carers spend so much time looking after others that they forget to look after themselves.

At Headway Sussex, we believe carers deserve support too.

Whether through our support groups, advice and information through our helpline, or simply connecting with others who understand, we are here to help ensure carers feel heard, valued, and supported.

This year's Carers Week theme is "Building Carer Friendly Communities" – because no carer should have to face their caring journey alone.

To every carer in our community: thank you. Your compassion, dedication, and strength make a difference every single day. πŸ’™
