🧡 It might be someone stroking a horse for the first time, returning after time away, taking part in their first competition, volunteering or simply enjoying being around horses, everyone should feel welcome.

🎓 Applications are now open for the new Academic Year! 🎓

Does your child struggle with mainstream school? Or are you a school looking for a cost-effective alternative provision to enhance your pupils' learning?

Changing Lives Through Horses, which is a national programme, focusses on 6 key skills:

✅ Communication
✅ Confidence
✅ Teamwork
✅ Responsibility
✅ Relationships
✅ Perseverance

With our wonderful horses as partners, we have great success making REAL changes to young people such that they not only are able to engage more fully with learning, but develop as people.

📅⏰ We operate the scheme on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday and groups are limited to 6 participants.

"Always be humble, always be understanding and always be kind. The brightest smiles can hide a thousand wounds and people can be fighting inner battles you know absolutely nothing about." - Victoria Wright, Founder and Chair of Riders Minds.

On saturday 9th August we’re asking all equestrians to come together from all walks of life and Ask Care. Talk (A.C.T.) on that day.
Start a conversation on a yard, smile at someone you wouldn’t normally talk to, wear something purple, and for once let us all be united by the same passion. We all have the power to be that leg up that somebody might desperately need.

☀️ It's getting hot!

We're loving the summer weather, but remember to make sure horses everywhere are kept cool, comfortable and safe...

💧 Water – Make sure fresh, clean water is always available. Check troughs and top up buckets regularly.

🌳 Shade and shelter – Horses need access to shade, whether natural or man-made, when turned out.

🌬️ Ventilation – Improve airflow in stables.

🧴 Sunburn – Protect pink skin with horse-specific sun cream or UV-protective fly masks.

🪰 Flies and midges – Use repellents correctly, keep stables clean and consider fly rugs and masks if required.

🏇 Exercise – Avoid the hottest times of day (10am–4pm) and cool your horse down thoroughly after work.

🚛 Travel – Travel early, keep trips short and ensure plenty of ventilation and hydration.
