🌊 Join Minehead WI for a Minehead Beach Clean! 🌊

Join Minehead WI, Plastic Free Minehead and Plastic Free Exmoor for an evening of making a difference to our coastline. We'll be meeting by Jubilee Gardens Café for an hour of clearing litter and marine debris from Minehead beach and seafront, helping to protect our beautiful coast and wildlife.

🗓 Date: Wednesday 19th August 2026
🕖 Time: 7.00pm
📍 Meeting Point: Jubilee Gardens Café, Minehead
🧤 Litter pickers and bags will be provided – just bring a pair of old gloves and dress for the weather.

This clean-up is part of the Surfers Against Sewage Million Mile Clean campaign. After the clean, we'll sort and audit everything we collect, helping to identify the brands and types of litter most commonly found on our beaches and supporting campaigns to tackle pollution at its source.

Although this event is being hosted by Minehead WI, everyone is warmly welcome. Whether you're a regular volunteer or joining us for the first time, we'd love to see you there.🌍💙

Lisa from the Minehead and Coast Time Bank will be joining us to explain how Timebank works. By signing up and helping for an hour at the beach clean, you can earn one hour of time credit, which you can then use in the future to receive an hour of help from another Timebank member.

Flood Resilience for households & businesses can not be built when the waters are rising- it's too late! Help will not arrive in time.

Now is the time to ask yourself - could our house or business flood?

If you think it might, ask for a free flood protection survey from Minehead Rotary EVAG Group, the registered charity which helps households which might flood to protect themselves.

If kit is required it's likely to be issued at the time of the survey, or shortly afterwards, to enable instant protection.

The cost is minimal as we receive strong support from Somerset Prepared- and they subsidise the kit cost to an amazing level of 80%.

Don't forget that some severe flash floods can occur in the Summer. Protect now! No time like the present.
