We are proud to announce that we have agreed to sponsor the vCreate app within the Milton Keynes Neonatal Unit for the 9th consecutive year.

The vCreate service provides families with secure video and photo updates from the NICU, helping parents stay connected with their babies during difficult times. Over the last 12 months alone, the neonatal team has supported 167 families through the app, sharing more than 2,040 videos and photos to provide reassurance, reduce separation anxiety, and support family-integrated care.

The app enables staff to quickly and easily send meaningful multi-language updates from existing unit devices, helping to improve family wellbeing, enhance developmental outcomes for babies, lessen calls to the unit, and boost staff morale.

The annual cost of sponsoring the app is £3,672, meaning that over the past 9 years the charity will have committed more than £33,000 to ensure families in Milton Keynes continue to benefit from this invaluable service.

Last year, Rhys’s parents reached out to us with a wish for a trampoline. Rhys enjoys rebound therapy at school and, while he can’t access full therapy sessions at home, having a trampoline would allow him to continue enjoying the many benefits of rebound in a fun and recreational way. 💙

Before making the wish happen, we spoke with Rhys’s school about how this could support him, and they shared:

> “The garden trampoline would give Rhys many benefits including his physical tone and balance, as well as the joy around play and positive interactions with others.”

We decided to hold the wish until the winter months had passed, and earlier this year we were finally able to purchase the trampoline ready for the sunshine ☀️

Yesterday, Rhys got on his trampoline for the very first time — and he absolutely LOVED it! 🥹💫

At Emily’s Star, we are proud to provide wishes for our families where there is a meaningful benefit to the child. From practical equipment and specialist items, to memory-making days out and experiences, we are here to support families in ways that truly make a difference. 💙

Thank you so much to Electra Boat MK for welcoming us on board this morning for a Cream Tea cruise down to Linford Manor.

This is our second trip on the boat & it was just as fabulous this time as the last.

I was able to invite 12 volunteers on board for a chilled morning viewing Milton Keynes from the water & it was incredibly relaxing & fun!
