Sanjay Mortimer Foundation - SMF Reprap festival finally in the Hackspace, it's only been a few months since although we might have got it in 2025 😅.

Teesside Hackspace is hosting Teesside Synth Club, a monthly meetup started by one of our members to share knowledge, ideas, and music. It has a livecoding/algorave lean, but anyone interested in electronic music of all kinds is welcome - whether you're into modular synths, DAWs, circuit bending, or just curious about making weird noises with computers. Come along to share what you're working on, learn from others, and enjoy some live electronic music in a friendly, informal setting.

The club's first event will be an introduction to live coding music using Strudel, a browser-based environment for making music with code. No prior coding or music experience required. We have a limited number of computers available, so if you can bring your own laptop please do. Bring headphones! Feel free to bring your own synth(s) for jamming time at the end.

While my slides could come across as controversial (as declared by who never get their projects past 80%) I could feel the connection with the audience that related to my experience of breaking into a new field with minimal experience. Q&A section letter and feedback from participants made me feel like i did a good job at my talk at Electromagnetic Field

We are extremely pleased to here that our most Infamous member and youtuber is giving a talk at this years ElectroMagnetic Field Camp. The talk is titled "From zero to engineering superhero"

"Six years ago, I was an artist with no engineering qualifications, no formal technical training, and absolutely no business operating industrial robots worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. Today, I lead robotics projects for companies around the world.

This talk is a light-hearted cautionary tale of how curiosity, persistence, and an unhealthy number of browser tabs completely changed the direction of my life. Through stories of failure, career detours, imposter syndrome, accidental entrepreneurship, and one particularly unconventional job application I want to inspire others to chase their dreams."

It looks like I'll be attending next month! On top of that, I'm going to be on stage talking about what it takes to become a robotics engineer without previous experience.
