Accessibility without compromise 💚
Emily and Verity had a fantastic visit to Thomas Vaughan today, a family-run business helping people live more independently through accessible kitchens, bathrooms and home adaptations.
It was brilliant to see their accessible displays in person and how adaptive features can be practical, stylish and far from clinical. Style really can exist alongside substance.

They are also working towards Disability Confident Level 3 Leader status, and we’re looking forward to supporting them on that journey while exploring ways we can work together in the future.
A huge thank you for the warm welcome. We’re excited to see where this partnership can lead.
P.S we think having a cute dog for customer service is an EXCELLENT idea! 🐶

A welcome announcement for accessibility in Wales.

The Welsh Government’s new £2 million Croeso i Bawb grant scheme will support tourism and hospitality businesses to make practical accessibility improvements, helping more disabled visitors, neurodivergent visitors, people with hidden conditions and those travelling with them to enjoy Wales with confidence.

At Legacy in the Community, we welcome this investment.

Accessibility should never be seen as an optional extra. It is central to whether people feel able to take part, visit new places, enjoy time with family and friends, and feel genuinely welcomed in their communities.

Our latest blog reflects on why Croeso i Bawb is a positive step, and why the principle of “welcome to everyone” must be felt across all areas of Welsh life.

🎨 Another great day of community connections for Emily, our ALN Coordinator, at VC Pembroke! The VC Gallery

With two art groups taking place, there was plenty going on, and a real highlight was connecting with Pembs ASD Advocacy and discussing how we could work together to support young people aged 16+ who may be at risk of falling through gaps in existing support.

Building these local relationships is so important in helping people find the right support, opportunities and next steps.

And Emily has managed to time her visit perfectly for lunch once again… chilli and wedges today! 🙌😄

It was a pleasure to welcome David last week to our stand at RWS, and share more about the work of Legacy in the Community.

From employability support and disability inclusion to strengthening opportunities within our communities, conversations like these are an important part of building relationships and creating positive change.

We're always pleased to connect with people who share our commitment to supporting individuals, removing barriers and building more inclusive communities across Wales.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with us, David. We look forward to continuing the conversation.

This week, our CEO David Holdsworth attended the Royal Welsh Show, where he joined a lively and thought-provoking discussion on the future of Wales’ charity and voluntary sector. Hosted by WCVA | CGGC, the session explored a big question: What kind of sector do charities and voluntary organisation...

Real inclusion isn't just something written in a handbook.
It's listening, removing barriers, making reasonable adjustments and creating opportunities where everyone can succeed.
This Disability Pride Month, let's keep turning good intentions into meaningful action.

🎉 That’s a wrap on the Royal Welsh Show!
As another fantastic Royal Welsh Show comes to a close, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat with the Legacy in the Community team.
Over the past four days, we’ve met so many wonderful people, shared information about our services, strengthened partnerships and enjoyed being part of one of Wales’ biggest community events.
Thank you to our staff, volunteers and everyone who helped make the week such a success. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

🌾 Day Three at the Royal Welsh Show!
It’s been another brilliant day at the Royal Welsh Show, with Gareth and Verity representing Legacy in the Community and meeting people from across Wales.
From inspiring conversations to taking in everything the show has to offer, including some impressive Highland cattle, prize livestock and, of course, plenty of sheep! It’s been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our rural communities and the organisations that support them.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by for a chat. Every conversation helps raise awareness of the support available for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, and the importance of creating inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.
If you’re visiting the show, come and say hello, we’d love to meet you!

🐑 Day Two at the Royal Welsh Show!

Another fantastic day ahead at the Royal Welsh Show! Today, Rhiannon and Karen are representing Legacy in the Community, supported by some amazing volunteers who have helped welcome visitors to our stand.

We’re proud to be part of the Health & Wellbeing area, alongside so many organisations working to improve the lives of people across Wales. It’s a brilliant opportunity to connect, share ideas and let more people know about the support available within our communities.

And of course... we couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of some of our four-legged neighbours! 🐑💚

If you’re at the show, come and find us, we’d love to say hello and tell you more about how we’re supporting disabled people and those with long-term health conditions into brighter futures.

Day One at the Royal Welsh Show!
We’ve officially arrived, set up our stand (just above the sheep pens 🐑), and have already had some fantastic conversations with members of the local community—including a brilliant group of Young Farmers.
We even managed to grab a photo before our woolly neighbours moved in... although we don’t think it’ll stay this quiet for long! 😄
If you’re visiting the show over the next few days, come and say hello. We’d love to chat about the support we provide for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, as well as how we work with employers and communities across Wales to create more inclusive opportunities.
See you at the show! 👋

Strong communities are built when everyone has the opportunity to take part.
By working together with employers, local organisations and communities, we can create places where disabled people feel welcomed, valued and included.
Because everyone deserves to belong.
