When you need to call 999 and can't talk - the Silent Solution can help.

When you need to call 999 and can't talk - the Silent Solution can help.

When you need to call 999 but can't talk - the Silent Solution can help.

How does it work? ๐Ÿ’ก

If you need urgent police help but cannot speak, you should๐Ÿ‘‡
1. Dial 999
2. Listen to the questions from the operator
3. Respond by coughing or tapping your device, if you can
4. If prompted, press 55 to let the operator know it's a genuine emergency and you'll be put through to police.

Using this method helps police to filter out accidental and hoax calls, ensuring that those in danger are able to alert the police and get help.

Their Majesties The King and Queen, and His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, to visit Aberfan in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the tragic disaster.

The King, Queen and Prince of Wales will visit Aberfan, Merthyr Tydfil, on Wednesday 21 October, marking 60 years since the Aberfan disaster to pay tribute to the lives lost that day.

On 21 October 1966, 144 people โ€“ including 116 children โ€“ tragically lost their lives when a spoil tip slid down a mountain, engulfing Pantglas School and some of the surrounding houses.
At the Aberfan Memorial Garden, which stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died, Members of the Royal Family will pay their respects in memory of those tragically taken away.

Their Majesties and His Royal Highness will also attend Aberfan & Merthyr Vale Community Centre, spending time with survivors, bereaved parents, former pupils, and siblings of those who died, coming together and remembering all who were lost.

The Prince of Wales will then visit Ynysowen Community Primary School to meet with students and teachers involved in projects to mark the anniversary and unveil The Aberfan Memorial Tree.

Councillor Brent Carter, Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, said:
โ€œOn the 21st October 1966 the village of Aberfan suffered unimaginable loss. We know this anniversary will be specifically poignant and people will come from far and wide to pay their respects and to reflect the lives lost that tragic day.

โ€œIt is an honour and privilege to welcome Their Majesties and His Royal Highness to Merthyr Tydfil on this significant anniversary.โ€

It's not long enough.

We canโ€™t simply explain our thoughts, feelings, emotions, needs, relationships and everything that's going on for us in 10 minutes.

And we can't expect GPs to fully understand our mental health in a 10 minute appointment either.

Itโ€™s time for a different solution.

A solution that gives you access to a meaningful conversation on the day you reach out for support, where you feel heard, understood and validated.

That conversation should set you down the path to the support you need. We call it same-day open access.

And you should have access to it.

If you agree, add your name to our โ€˜See Me Nowโ€™ campaign.

You can find the link in the comments.

๐Ÿšจ NEW WORKSHOP LAUNCH! ๐Ÿšจ
Understanding Neurodiversity: The Teenage Years

Weโ€™re excited to introduce a brand-new workshop from Behaviour Support Hub for parents and carers across Wales.

The teenage years can bring huge changes.
Growing independence.
Changing friendships.
Increased expectations at school.
Big emotions.
New pressures and social expectations.

For neurodivergent teenagers, these changes can sometimes feel overwhelming โ€” and for parents and carers, understanding what is happening and knowing how best to help can be challenging too.

Our new Understanding Neurodiversity: The Teenage Years workshop has been created to help you make sense of some of these changes and explore practical ways to support your teenager.

During this 2.5-hour online workshop, we'll explore:

๐Ÿ”น Emotional regulation, anxiety and mental wellbeing
๐Ÿ”น Executive functioning and growing independence
๐Ÿ”น Friendships, relationships and social expectations
๐Ÿ”น Masking, identity and self-esteem
๐Ÿ”น School challenges, attendance and transitions
๐Ÿ”น Communication, wellbeing and practical support strategies

We'll look at the teenage years from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective, recognising that every young person is different.
