We would like to say a HUGE thank you to the wonderful staff VES Recruitment for all their hard work and enormous fundraising efforts this year. They have raised £1,333 for Merthyr Sands and it will do so much in allowing us to support bereaved parents and families.

It was lovely to see Rachel - VES Recruitment this week and have a chat with her about our plans for the coming year.

⭐We are SUPER proud to announce we have raised an incredible £1,333 for an amazing charity Merthyr Sands Sands - baby loss charity

📢From bake sales and raffles to 10k races, our team have made a huge effort this year to raise funds and awareness for Sands, our local group work so hard to support people navigating loss and grief. 🧡

🙏🏻And a HUGE thank you to everybody who supported our fundraising efforts this year. Your support doesn't go unnoticed, we are grateful to have such amazing people in the VES community.

We look forward to seeing how these funds will help the group enhance support for those who need it. 💜

Today, we had the immense privilege of attending the opening of a new exhibition by at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery. The exhibition explores how grief and trauma following the loss of a baby is both complex and ever changing. As a bereaved father, Daniel’s work looks closely at how this experience has impacted his role as a dad, a husband and a person.

It has been an honour for us to support Daniel and the staff at the museum in recent weeks with how to manage such a sensitive topic and how members of the public might react but we hope that this is yet another step towards breaking down the barriers for bereaved parents and opening up the conversations around baby loss. It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces at the event too who continue to support Merthyr Sands and our families.

But more importantly, the collection is beautiful and we would encourage you to visit and view the pieces for yourself. It is open now and on until 15/10/2026

💜🧡 Announcement 🧡💜

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have a new Befriender at Merthyr Sands! A huge congratulations to Kayleigh for completing her Befriender training over the last month 👏🏻🥳

Kayleigh has been an important member of our group for the last couple of years and has always been at the heart of everything we do. From raising over £1000 for Sands by training for and completing the Cardiff half marathon, to spending countless hours and late nights making hundreds of bows for our families to dedicate in their baby’s memory for BLAW. She has always been a constant support for our families and we could not be happier to have her as an official Merthyr Sands Befriender 🥰

Thank you Kayleigh for everything you do for our group and our families, you are such a credit to Merthyr Sands 🧡💜
