Mansfield Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets We are Mansfield Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets part of the UK's largest maritime youth charity.

Cadets go to sea, learn to sail, shoot and do adventure training! The Sea Cadets is a nationwide voluntary uniformed youth organisation, open to all young people aged 12 to 18, Royal Marine Cadets for young people aged 13 to 18 and with Junior Sections open to those of 10 to 12 years of age. It is Britain's most successful nautical organisation for the development of young people with units run by enthusiastic adult volunteers. We have a rank structure modelled on that of the Royal Navy, giving Cadets an opportunity to progress and take up positions of responsibility as they acquire skills and seniority. On reaching 18, many Cadets choose to stay on as adult instructors, when their training and talents become invaluable. The remit of the Sea Cadets is to provide fun, friendship, adventure and learning new skills based on waterborne and land based activities.

Due to projected low cadets numbers and staff availability over the school half term holiday, the decision has been made to close the unit for Tuesday 26th and Thursday 28th May.

07/05/2026

Unfortunately cadets will be closed this evening (Thursday 7th May) due to staff unavailability. This is to ensure we have a safe and suitable learning environment for all cadets and staff to cadet ratios are met.

We aim to reopen Tuesday 12th May but will let you know if this is not the case.

30/04/2026

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that we can open safely and deliver quality sessions. however at times there are factors beyond our control.
