Barnabus Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity based in Manchester with a support centre and support office in Manchester city centre.

Our support workers help people find shelter, assist with benefits, housing ,employment and rehabilitation. Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity in Manchester with a support centre, support workers and NHS health workers in conjunction with The Urban Village Medical Practice. We also have our own Resettlement Tenancy Scheme empowering people with lived experience of homelessness into a home. We offer a lifeline to homeless and vulnerable people, providing hope and opportunities for transformation. We offer a strong network of support and work closely with other specialist agencies to cover all aspects of need. We don't believe anyone should be without a home. Our aim is to release people from poverty, fear and oppression, empowering people to improve and rebuild their lives in a sustainable way. When you support Barnabus and share about our work you're providing hope and provision to homeless and vulnerable people.

Last week, our team had a great time at the University of Manchester Volunteering Fair, meeting students who were interested in volunteering and finding out more about the work we do at Barnabus.

With over 100 organisations and stalls at the fair, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with students, talk about the different ways they can get involved and hopefully meet some of our future volunteers.

Today, on World Homelessness Day, we’re raising awareness of the realities faced by people experiencing homelessness and the importance of making sure everyone has somewhere safe to call home.

At Barnabus, we support people experiencing homelessness across Manchester with practical support, accommodation, guidance and a listening ear.

Margaret, our Beacon Manager, swapped her bed for a night under the stars for Barnabus! 💛

Margaret took on the Big Manc Sleep Out, giving up the comfort of her bed for one night to raise vital funds and show her support for people experiencing homelessness across Manchester.

Working at our Beacon Support Centre, Margaret sees first-hand the difference that practical support, compassion and a safe place can make. A huge thank you to Margaret for taking on the challenge and helping make the Big Manc Sleep Out such a success! 💤💛

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the NHS staff who recently took part in a fundraising walk across the country, travelling from their most northerly site in Newcastle all the way down to their most southerly site in Cornwall.

The walk is taking place as a relay, with different NHS teams taking on sections of the route across the country. We were delighted to welcome the Manchester team to Barnabus as they completed their section of the challenge.

Our wonderful volunteer Ken has been part of the Barnabus volunteers team for some time and recently went the extra mile for us, quite literally!

As part of our 35 for 35 challenge, Ken and five of his friends took on a 35-mile bike ride to raise vital funds for Barnabus as we celebrate 35 years of service. 💛

We’re so grateful to Ken and his friends for putting the miles in, raising money and helping us celebrate this special milestone. 🚲

General entry was £95, but our Barnabus places are just £50, with a fundraising commitment of £500.
