Launching today: Hope Starts Here 🌈🎉
It can feel like we’re more divided than ever - but what connects us is stronger.

From June 2026, Hope Starts Here will celebrate q***r joy, connection, and affirmation - in the everyday moments that matter most. 💜

A couple reuniting at a train station.
Being respected after a great night out.
Smiling when you think about that special person.

These moments aren’t staged. They’re real. And we're sharing them nationwide.
Because we believe that a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ people begins today.

Join the movement - visit www.lgbt.foundation/hope-starts-here to see how everyday hope is making a difference ✨

We’re in the middle of Volunteers’ Week - and one week away from LGBT Foundation’s annual Volunteer Awards (affectionately known as “The Vollies”).

While the awards are our moment to celebrate, it’s so important to recognise that our 200+ volunteers are the heartbeat of LGBT Foundation - people who give their time, energy and care to support others, whether they’re part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves or allies wanting to make a difference.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now’s the moment - join us to create a kinder, more connected community. Get started today: www.lgbt.foundation/volunteer-with-us

Something very exciting is coming this Thursday, 4 June 💫

This summer — and as Pride Month begins — we’re celebrating the everyday moments of joy, hope and belonging.

From holding hands to meeting at the station, these moments matter. They’re happening all over the UK, in the most ordinary and unexpected places. 🌈✨

Real stories. Q***r joy, front and centre. At the exact moment hope starts.

And if you’re in London, you might catch a moment of hope and joy right outside Tottenham Court Road station 👀

We know things are really tough for a lot of trans and non-binary people right now — but you don’t have to go through it alone 💛

That’s why we’ve teamed up with Gendered Intelligence to create Waiting Well l — a pilot supporting trans and non-binary people in South West England on the national waiting list, with spaces to connect, talk and feel affirmed.

It’s free and open to people in South West England (18+, registered with Exeter / The Laurels GIC).

We know many people have been waiting for this, and it has important implications for LGBTQ+ people. As an organisation committed to delivering safe, inclusive services, we need time to understand the legal and practical impact fully. Its vital responses are careful, accurate, and don’t add to misinformation or harm.

This comes at a time when LGBTQ+ people already face barriers to accessing services. Misinterpretation could increase fear, reduce trust, and deepen inequalities.

We urge organisations to take time, consult affected communities, and seek expert advice before acting.
