🚨 🚚 We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our Collections & Deliveries team at our Gorton shop.

As a Volunteer Driver's Mate, you'll accompany our van driver to collect donated items from customers and deliver purchases to local homes. The role involves lifting and moving furniture and other donated goods, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

This is a great opportunity to meet new people, stay active, and play an important part in supporting the work of Age UK Manchester.

We're ideally looking for volunteers who can commit to one or two full days each week, based at our Gorton Shop.

Do you have a spare mattress or bed?

We are looking for donations of good quality beds and mattresses with a fire safety label. This is for people who use our Home from Hospital service.

Home from Hospital supports socially isolated older people who often return home to an empty house and lack the basic home fixtures that are vital for their wellbeing and recovery.

If you, or someone you know, has some spare mattresses or beds that you want to donate to us, we offer a free collection, making it much easier for you.

Newall Green and the surrounding Wythenshawe area.

The hourly pay is £13.45, with double pay on Bank Holidays. It’s a permanent, zero-hours contract with the potential for 30+ hours a week, depending on availability and service requirements.

“The bowls group is really friendly and the facilities are all modern, safe and comfortable and, most importantly, the activity provides exercise that is moderate and manageable for all participants, regardless of age or ability. The cohesiveness of the group is down to the leadership of the activity organiser, who provides the glue that keeps us all together".
