Are you passionate about supporting communities in Manchester and have experience working with older people? We’d love to hear from you.

We currently have three full-time vacancies:

Scams Awareness Support Worker

Help raise awareness of the latest scams affecting older people. You’ll deliver community talks, provide one-to-one support, and empower people with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe from scams.

Information and Advice Worker (Home from Hospital)

Provide expert advice on benefits and related issues, supporting older people and their carers following a hospital stay. This includes checking entitlement, supporting benefit claims, challenging decisions, and helping with social care, housing, debt, and utility concerns.

Home from Hospital Support Worker
Support individuals transitioning safely from hospital back to their homes. This practical, person-centred role includes home visits, wellbeing checks, practical assistance, promoting independence, and working as part of a compassionate team.

We’re looking for people with experience working with older people, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting independence and wellbeing.

If you’re motivated, community-focused, and ready to make a real difference, we’d love you to explore these opportunities.

Thanks to a grant from Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, on September 22nd 2025, Crossacres Ageing Well Craft Group enjoyed a day trip by coach to Mostyn, North Wales. This was a return trip by popular request to Abakhan Fabrics, hobby and Home.

The venue has a vast array of craft items on offer and a general gift shop on site. The café provided a welcome break from shopping and time to catch up whilst making the most of the sunny weather.

In addition, the grant enabled us to purchase three new sewing machines which has greatly enhanced facilities for our Sewing group.

Thank you Wythenshawe Community Housing Group!
