🏆 What a weekend for Manchester sport!

From the track to the cricket field, and from athletics arenas to packed cultural venues, Manchester athletes and clubs have once again shown why our city continues to be a powerhouse of sporting excellence.

🇪🇺 European Athletics Championships 2026, Manchester talent shone brightly on the continental stage:

🥇 Georgia Hunter Bell (M11 Track Club, training at Manchester Regional Arena) stormed to European gold in the 1500m.

🥈 Fellow M11 Track Club athlete Keely Hodgkinson added another major medal to her collection with silver in the 800m.

🥇 Success Eduan, a former Manchester Sports Awards Junior Sports Achiever, continued her remarkable rise with gold in the women's 4x100m relay, following an outstanding performance to reach the 200m final.

🏏 The Hundred 2026 - A huge congratulations to Manchester Super Giants, who secured their first-ever Hundred title in dramatic fashion at Lord's. Tim Seifert's match-winning heroics guided the team to a thrilling last-gasp victory over Trent Rockets and a place in the history books.

🕺 UK B-Boy Championships 2026 - Celebrating its 30th year, the UK's premier breaking event delivered another unforgettable spectacle at a packed Aviva Studios. With incredible competitors travelling from across the globe and world-class performances throughout, the event highlighted Manchester's growing reputation as a global destination for breaking.

Having hosted three major breaking events in the last five years, Manchester is rapidly becoming the spiritual home of the sport.

👏 Congratulations to all the athletes, clubs, organisers and volunteers who made it such a memorable weekend. Manchester continues to inspire on every stage.

As part of our SEND Activity Day, we're offering a coached BMX session for children and young people aged 5+.

⏰ Session runs from 1pm to 2pm
🚲 Participants must be able to ride a bike
📝 Register on arrival by 12:30pm
