So… So much has been happening over the couple of weeks with school holidays, Beach days, day trips that we have been keeping a little secret… but it is out now and we can finally share some wonderful news!

Hermione is the proud recipient of a very special award. Wards Estate Agents host the Wards Children’s Awards every year for the last 20 years. They recognise charities that support the community, brave and corrupt children who live with daily challenges and life limiting conditions, young hero’s in the Community, young coasters in the community and families who face huge challenges yet still make a difference in the lives of others.

Hermione, was awarded the Brave and Courageous Child in. 8-16 year old category, while fellow BPANNER Bertie who also won the Brave and Courageous Award in the 0-8 category.

Both children face extraordinary challenges just like everyone else with BPAN, but this helps us to raise awareness and brings us closer to finding a cure for BPAN.

Thank you to Wards Estates and Kent Messenger as well as Kent Foundation Trust for for making today a truly special day for all of us. You went above and beyond to make our children feel special and celebrated the magic that makes a Community.

I often say it takes a Village to raise a child and you are sining examples of that Village.

A teenager caring for three siblings with disabilities is among the Kent youngsters chosen this year for a Wards Children’s Award.

Today we took a little time out from the busy world of school, work, appointments, fundraising, advocacy, and everyday life to enjoy a walk along the beautiful White Cliffs of Dover.

It was wonderful to catch up with Gareth, Michelle and Mrs Bown, share plenty of laughs, and soak up some of the most spectacular scenery England has to offer.

Watching Hermione enjoy the open spaces, explore at her own pace, and simply be herself reminds us just how important these moments are.

Living with a rare condition like BPAN means life can often feel overwhelming. Hospital visits, therapy appointments, paperwork, and the uncertainty of the future can take their toll.

Days like today remind us why making memories matters so much.

As families caring for children with complex disabilities know, opportunities to relax together don't come often. That's why we're so passionate about not only raising awareness and funding research through Hope for Hermione, but also highlighting the importance of giving families the chance to enjoy life beyond diagnoses.

The White Cliffs were simply stunning, the views across the English Channel were incredible, and Dover Castle standing proudly above the cliffs made the walk even more special.
