Making Miracles

Making Miracles Providing birth trauma & baby bereavement care via professional counselling & other support services

Making Miracles was founded in 2014 after Kelly Wells experienced a traumatic high risk pregnancy and the near loss of life of her daughter. Kelly searched for organisations to help her but instead found herself on chat rooms realising she was not alone in the feelings of isolation and grief. The idea of Making Miracles was a result of this and soon after the birth of her daughter Kelly decided th

ings needed to change and started the charity so no parent felt as alone as she did and there was somewhere to turn. Since then the charity and team has grown and achieved many great things through professional counselling, the Baby Memorial Garden, published childrenโ€™s book โ€œThe Babyโ€ , trauma & bereavement care boxes and a collection of support groups. Making Miracles is open to all the family including parents, grandparents and siblings and is the only UK charity providing this to date.

โ€œI was at the lowest point ever in my life, I had no idea how to move forward but the care and compassion from Making Miracles meant gradually the stuffing went back into me. I found I could breathe again and learnt to navigate the new path that I am on.

I still have bad days, where it takes everything to get out of bed, but now there are far more good days than bad.

Making Miracles support has given me the strength to cope, which I am very grateful for.โ€

Looking after our mental health is so important, especially during grief. ๐Ÿค

Grief can be heavy and exhausting. Taking time for rest, to talk, reflect, cry or simply pause is not weakness โ€” itโ€™s self care.

Be gentle with yourself and with others.

โ€œOn this episode Kellys welcomes Amy, one of our counsellors, to the podcast.

Amy also used to work for the NHS and talks about very useful techniques and brings her expertise on postnatal depression, anxiety, trauma and recognising signs of โ€˜Postnatal Depressionโ€™.

Amy explains the term โ€˜Postnatal Depressionโ€™ and the understanding around depression after a loss or birth.

Amy also shares her own experience about becoming a new mum and talks about the overwhelming feelings that many experience but never share.

Huge congratulations to Matt for taking part in the Whitstable & Herne Bay Half Marathon on Sunday 10th May! ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒŸ Matt completed the Half Marathon in an amazing 2 hours, 22 minutes and 22 seconds โ€” and has so far raised over ยฃ2,000, which is incredible.

Matt is pictured here with his eldest daughter. Their family received support from Making Miracles after the heartbreaking stillbirth of their daughter, Cleo, in 2025.

We are so grateful for your support, Matt. Your fantastic fundraising efforts will help us continue supporting more bereaved families โค๏ธ

Losing a baby changes everything and no parent should have to carry that grief alone.

Baby loss counselling can provide a safe, understanding space for bereaved parents to talk openly, process emotions and support their mental health through every stage of grief. It can help reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression and overwhelm while offering comfort, coping tools, and emotional support.

We are proud to offer FREE counselling support for bereaved families because healing should never depend on financial circumstances.

Every family deserves compassionate care, understanding and a place where their loss is acknowledged and validated.

You are not alone. We see you ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’™
