***We’re looking for volunteers to help shape something special in Luton…***
I’m really proud to share that we’ve recently formed a new charity Leading Luton Cohort CIC as continuation of the amazing work, projects and network that has been created by the leading luton cohort group put together by the Luton Taskforce at Luton Borough Council facilitated by The Young Foundation , and I’m now looking to build a strong, passionate Committee Board to help bring it to life.
This is a voluntary role, but one with real purpose.
Everything we’re doing is aligned to Luton’s 2040 Vision a long term ambition for the town where:
– No one lives in poverty
– Everyone has the opportunity to thrive
– Our community is healthier, more connected and more inclusive
– Local people are supported into education, employment and enterprise
Our charity will play a small but important part in that bigger picture by creating:
– Free community events and activities
- Working with existing local organisations and charities and local initiatives
– Safe spaces and opportunities for young people
– Careers and employability support
– A platform that connects local organisations and other charities, businesses and residents
– Fundraising and support for local causes
We’re building something that is for the community, by the community.
I’m looking for people who want to contribute ideas, challenge thinking, and help shape this from the ground up.
We want a mix of ages, backgrounds and experiences, diversity of thought is key if we’re serious about making a difference.
You don’t need previous board experience — just:
✔️ A genuine passion for Luton
✔️ A willingness to get involved
✔️ Ideas, energy and a bit of drive
I’ll be leading this as Director with my fellow cohort members, working alongside the wider Leading Luton Cohort, and this is a real opportunity to be part of something that contributes to lasting change across our town.
