In-Person Interaction with Dr S. Vidyasaraswathi (EKAM UK Advisor)
I had the privilege of meeting Dr S. Vidyasaraswathi, EKAM UK Advisor and medical practitioner, in person. Our conversation was informal yet deeply insightful, touching upon mental conditioning, focus, and the importance of being present, especially for youngsters.
Using a recent hike as an example, we discussed how small physical challenges help train the mind. Staying aware, patient, and focused during such challenges reflects MPEG Zoning—remaining in the Stretch and Growth Zones without slipping into comfort or panic.
Dr Vidyasaraswathi shared her personal routine, clearly stating that it is her own practice and not a prescription for others. Having been brought up in a spiritual environment, she emphasised that spirituality alone does not make one wise; individual character plays a crucial role. She described spirituality and medicine as two sides of the same coin, both aimed at inner balance and well-being.
She explained how she keeps herself meaningfully engaged throughout the day—from 4:30 AM to 2:30 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM, staying away from gossip and unnecessary worldly distractions. This disciplined engagement, she said, gives her mental happiness, calmness, and helps maintain good health.
She concluded with gratitude to God for bringing the right people into her life at the right time and thanked me for the interaction.
