One of our most popular enterprises at Nickel Support sees trainees transform old and unwanted furniture into beautiful, handcrafted pieces for our shop and online store.

From design and preparation through to the final coat of wax, trainees are involved in every stage of the upcycling process, developing valuable vocational skills, confidence and real workplace experience.

Every session has a real purpose, contributing to both personal development and the success of our enterprise.

We recently popped over to Honeywood Museum by Carshalton ponds to visit our Challenging Perceptions exhibition.

The exhibition showcases our powerful photography project created with local photographer featuring portraits of the adults we work with.

You will also see the results of our art project with brilliant local artists and , funded by .

- Creative Support Worker, based in Carshalton

Do you have an art background? Lead inclusive art and product development sessions for our trainees, combining support work, creativity and product design to enable them to develop artistic, practical, and employment-related skills. You will also be involved in packaging design helping to translate creative ideas into retail-ready products.

- Session Support Worker, Based in Carshalton or Cheam

A typical day for our Session Support Workers is very varied. You could be supporting a furniture upcycling session in the morning, a homeware creation session in the afternoon or even running an exercise or mindfulness class. Full training will be given in all areas. As well as experienced individuals, we welcome applications from those looking to transition from other careers.
