Join us for our Summer Garden Party at Sutton Ecology Centre on Saturday 4th July for a fascinating, up-close encounter with the hidden world beneath our feet!

We’re incredibly excited to be joined by the experts at 🐜Ants HQ🐜, who are bringing their amazing living ant colony systems. You'll get to:

👀 Observe these incredible, hardworking creatures in action.

🌍 Discover why ants are just as vital to our ecosystems as bees.

🇬🇧 Chat about our 60+ native UK ant species.

💪🐜🦸‍♀️ Learn how their superhero-like adaptations made them a global success.

It’s going to be a brilliant day out for nature lovers of all ages. See you in the garden! 🌿☀️

💧🌿 Small Pond Update 🌿💧

The pond area is looking especially lovely right now, with Scillia in flower and adding beautiful drifts of blue around the edges 💙

These beautiful dainty flowers which create a striking wash of colour at this time of year. They’re also a great early source of nectar for bees and other pollinators 🪻🐝

It’s wonderful to see the pond surroundings coming to life and supporting wildlife as the season unfolds.

💧🌿 The Pond Dipping Platform is Complete! 🌿💧

We’re delighted to share that the new pond dipping viewing area is now finished.

The space has been transformed into a safe and welcoming spot for school groups and visitors to enjoy the pond and its wildlife. It’s wonderful to see it ready for learning, exploring and simply taking a moment by the water 🐸🌾

Thank you to the Biodiversity Team and everyone involved in bringing this project to life, and to all who continue to support and take an interest in the Centre.

We’re looking forward to seeing it in use very soon 💚✨

🌿💧 Pond Dipping Platform Progress Update 💧🌿

We’re really pleased to share that incredible progress has been made on the pond dipping platform area.

The old structure has now been removed and the new viewing space is already taking shape, creating a safe and accessible spot for school groups and visitors to enjoy the pond and its wildlife 🐸🌾

It’s exciting to see this transformation happening so quickly, and we’re looking forward to the finished result in the coming weeks.

Thank you to everyone supporting the ongoing care and improvement of the Ecology Centre. More updates soon 🌿✨📸

🌷 A burst of colour to brighten the day!

We’re spotting gorgeous carpets of crocus popping up all over our parks and green spaces, like little splashes of purple and gold scattered across the grass 💜💛

Such a cheerful reminder that brighter days are on the way.
