It is with a heavy heart and sadness beyond words that we share the news our beloved Julie passed away this week.

Julie was an integral part of the community and will be sorely missed. She was a wonderful, kind hearted person that we all loved so dearly.

We would like to extend our condolences to Julie’s family.

There is a page on the Creative Futures website and we invite you to share your stories about Julie to [email protected]

We will miss Julie’s love, warmth and beautiful voice.

Our Community Families music drop in sessions will restart on Monday 13 April. We look forward to seeing you.

How can babies exercise self-determination in music?

This is one of the many questions we've been exploring in Sound Start, where we've been working with apprentices from LEYF Nurseries to support their musical practice and provision.

We've been working with Mona Sakr and Kayla Halls from Middlesex University to help us learn more as our evaluation and learning partners and are so pleased to share this series of vignettes and reflection points put together by Kayla from her observations and with beautiful illustrations by Taisiya Lipkin

We're grateful to Paul Hamlyn Foundation for funding this project.
