Our third ‘Evening With …’ event this year is a treat for fans of drama: a conversation between Graham Seed, his wife Denise Silvey, and Jonathan Maitland.

Graham Seed is an actor who has appeared in many stage, TV and film roles – but he’s probably best known as the distinctive voice of Nigel Pargetter in Radio Four’s The Archers for 27 years. He’s appeared in films from Gandhi (1982) to The Man With The Plan (2026), and TV shows such as I Claudius, Brideshead Revisited, Casualty, Midsomer Murders and Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV. He has also had an extensive theatre career, most recently appearing in Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution.

Denise Silvey is a highly experienced actress, singer, director, producer and agent. After playing Miss Casewell in Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, she switched to the production side in 2009 and has been the play’s Artistic Director since 2018. She has directed The Mousetrap in China, India and the Far East as well as London’s West End.
Denise has also produced and cast numerous other plays, including recently A Thing of Beauty at The Tabard Theatre in Chiswick. Her film production credits include Peter Duncan’s Cinderella (2021) and Musik (2026).

Jonathan Maitland is a journalist, broadcaster, author and playwright. His plays include Dead Sheep, An Audience With Jimmy Savile, The Last Temptation of Boris Johnson and The Interview.
Wilko, his play with music about Wilko Johnson, the lead singer of Dr Feelgood, is currently touring the UK.
Graham, Denise and Jonathan have often worked together. Dead Sheep and An Audience with Jimmy Savile were produced by Denise, with Graham playing major roles in both of them.
