The Forest Gate Garden Trail is a much-loved biennial community event that invites visitors to explore some of Forest Gate’s most beautiful, creative and inspiring gardens.
For one special weekend each year, residents and local community gardens open their gates to share their green spaces with the public. From hidden urban oases and wildlife-friendly gardens to colourful family gardens, each space offers something unique.
The trail is a wonderful opportunity to discover the diversity of gardening in Forest Gate, meet local gardeners, gather ideas and inspiration, and connect with neighbours who share a love of nature and community.
Whether you’re an experienced gardener, a keen plant lover, or simply looking for an enjoyable day out, the Garden Trail offers a chance to slow down, explore the neighbourhood and appreciate the incredible green spaces that thrive in our community.
The Forest Gate Garden Trail is organised by the Forest Gate Community Garden, with all proceeds helping to support the garden’s year-round programme of community activities, projects, events, workshops and wellbeing initiatives.
By purchasing a ticket, visitors are not only enjoying a fascinating tour of local gardens but also helping to sustain an important community space that brings people together through nature, learning and creativity.
This year’s Garden Trail is particularly special as it forms part of the Forest Gate Community Garden’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Over the past decade, the garden has grown from a small community project into a thriving green space at the heart of Forest Gate, welcoming thousands of visitors and providing opportunities for learning, wellbeing and connection. The Garden Trail is a chance to celebrate that journey while looking ahead to the next chapter.
Please note there will be tours of the at 11.30 and 3 pm on both the Saturday and Sunday.
