ANNOUNCING THE 2026-2027 PERSIA MIRZAKHANI SCHOLAR

Persia Educational Foundation is delighted to announce this year’s Persia Mirzakhani Scholarship Awardee: Parnian Fazel. Parnian is currently pursuing her graduate studies. She holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Tehran, where she graduated in the top 10 of her cohort, placing 7th among 120 students. She is now pursuing her MSc at Imperial College London, ranked 2nd in the world for computing by QS 2026. Her published research spans two Tier 1 AI conferences, and she received the Best Undergraduate Thesis award in her department. Parnian’s academic record is exceptional by any measure. She ranked in the top 0.4% of over 180,000 participants in Iran’s national university entrance examination.

Her commitment to the community is equally striking. Since May 2025, she has volunteered as a Technical Content Creator for Women in AI Research (WiAIR), translating complex AI research into accessible content and championing the visibility of women in the field — a cause she connects to personally as an Iranian woman in an underrepresented space. As an undergraduate, she served as Student Representative throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and spent three years as a Teaching Assistant across six courses, spanning Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Programming, and Compiler Design.

Parnian is navigating AI research through publications and is particularly interested in AI for social good, with a focus on building technologies that can create meaningful real-world impact and improve people’s lives. The Mirzakhani Scholarship provides significant support at a critical moment in her studies.

Urgent Appeal: Protecting the Future of Iranian-Descent Students Amidst Crisis 🌍🎓

The ongoing conflict has left many people in a state of uncertainty, but for students of Iranian descent, the impact is often immediate and devastating. Many find themselves trapped without resources, facing frozen support systems and the sudden loss of financial stability—putting their hard-earned educations at risk.

At Persia Educational Foundation, we believe that education is a universal right and the cornerstone of a peaceful, prosperous future. Since 1997, our mission has been to empower Iranian-descent students to reach their full potential. Today, that mission is more critical than ever.

We are receiving urgent reports of students in the U.K. and beyond struggling to cover basic living costs and tuition fees due to the consequences of war on foreign exchange rates. We cannot allow a generation of bright minds to be sidelined by circumstances beyond their control.

How you can help:
We are appealing to our professional network and the wider community to support our emergency efforts. Your donations will provide vital resources to students in need, ensuring they can continue their studies and remain focused on their contributions to public service and society.

Please donate today via TotalGiving:

Together, we can ensure that these young professionals are not forgotten. Thank you for your continued generosity and for standing with the next generation of leaders.

A New Year, a timeless legacy. 🌸✨
As we welcome 2026, we aren’t just celebrating the arrival of Spring—we are marking a massive milestone: the 55th anniversary of the 2,500-year celebrations of the Persian Empire. 🏛️
From the ancient stones of Persepolis to the modern classrooms of the UK, the values of justice, human rights, and unity remain at our core. But today, heritage must meet action. ✊
This year, the Persia Educational Foundation is focusing on three major pillars:
⭐ The Maryam Mirzakhani Scholarship: Empowering Iranian women to lead in STEM. 🧪🔬
⭐ The Abdolreza Ansari Scholarship: Supporting the future of Human Rights and Public Service. ⚖️
⭐ The 55th Anniversary Project: We need YOUR help! We’re seeking authentic documents and resources to document Iran’s contribution to global civilization. 📚
Join us in turning history into a pathway for the future.
