We are INCREDIBLY excited that Old Street’s very own Brian will be swimming the London Marathon Events iconic Swim Serpentine in September, raising money for WeSwim as he does!

Brian is a wonderful member of our community, always arriving with a smile, full of enthusiasm and encouragement for other swimmers. Taking on the full mile is a testament to his relentless drive to never let anything stop him!

Xav attends our Canada Water session almost every week and always lights up the pool with his grin! We feel so thrilled to be able to help him, and others like him, access the benefits and joys of water. Sharing that feeling is truly amazing.

Would you like to feel the same? Check the link in our bio to find out more about joining us.

It’s a true pleasure to receive messages like these from our swimmers after their sessions. Community, freedom, and the joy of water - it’s what we exist for✨💙

It’s a source of pride for us that so many of our swimmers and volunteers come to us through word of mouth. It’s a real testament to the impact and joy that our sessions bring - that our community is so keen to encourage others to come along.
For us, the pinnacle of that feeling is when someone has valued their time so highly that they bring along their own family to participate with them. There are many examples of this at WeSwim, and here are just a few💙

If you want to get involved in a community this welcoming, check out the link in our bio💙

An incredible team of our volunteers are swimming in an extraordinary 24 hour wild swim relay to raise funds for WeSwim! Their efforts will help us to continue supporting disabled swimmers across London, creating more opportunities for confidence, connection and belonging in the water.

New club alert! We’re expanding further south with our newest club in Merton💙

Beginning in August, our new session will be held on Wednesdays, 6:30pm, at the Canon’s Leisure Centre in Mitcham.

We need a whole group of brilliant new volunteers to support our new crop of swimmers. If you love the water and are in the area, or know someone else who’d be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you 💙

WeSwim would simply not be possible without the help of all of our incredible volunteers, and that was certainly true at the gala too. Over 50 volunteers came, bringing enthusiasm, compassion, support - and some delicious baked goods too! Our community is so generous with their time and energy and we feel so lucky to have each and every one of them💙

Our swimmers are, of course, the life and soul of WeSwim.
Our mission is to make swimming accessible to the disabled community in London, allowing everyone to experience the joy of being in water. We know that everyone can swim, in some way or another, and celebrating that fact at the gala is such a fantastic experience every year. From people returning to water after accidents, to those learning to swim having never thought it possible, we are consistently so inspired by the determination of our community. To all our swimmers: we’re so proud of everything you achieved!💙💙

We’d like to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to the Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster, . Mayor Dimoldenburg stepped in to host our Gala awards ceremony last minute, agreeing to attend on his one day off, with just two days notice.
Our swimmers are so dedicated, with many of them overcoming huge amounts of nerves (among other barriers) to participate on race day. To be presented with a medal from the Mayor truly honours their achievement, and many of them have told us how much it means to them. The generosity and warmth of Mayor Dimoldenburg is exceptional, and we were so grateful to have him there.💙

💙WESWIM GALA 2026!💙
This past weekend we hosted our 3rd WeSwim gala, attended by over 60 swimmers and hundreds of volunteers and spectators. The day was completely packed with encouragement, support, joy, and even some happy tears. We are so thankful to our whole community for coming together to achieve such a wonderful day, and so proud of every single swimmer who raced.💙
