This week, the Beavers learnt about healthy eating, and the Cubs did some first aid training (with a visit from Dr Jack!)

It's been a busy week at Cubs and Beavers...

Beavers completed an agility challenge, investigated changes in heart rate, and learnt 3 different knots.

Cubs learnt about dangers to wildlife, did some painting, and played wink murder.

Come and visit Joseph and Charlotte’s 3d printed fidget toy stall on Ivyleaf Way, raising money for RSPCA (and earning badges at the same time!)

Did you know that Beavers in Canada wear hats with tails attached? This is just one of many facts the Beavers learnt today for their international badge.

The Cubs practiced their home skills this evening - baking apple pies and ironing their neckers.

Yesterday we had our first meeting of the autumn term. We welcomed lots of new children, and had a great time getting to know each other with some team building games. The Cubs had a go at making the world membership badge (fleur-de-lis ⚜️) out of Lego.

Ever wondered what do your leaders do at the weekend?

Well, this weekend, Jack, Harri, Phil and Susie joined 3200 other scout leaders at a training weekend.

We’ve done courses on Bushcrafts, outdoor cooking, adventures with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, understanding the new Explorers program, recruiting volunteers, planning accessible camps and British Sign Language.

We’ve had campfires and cake, done quizzes, earned many badges, and spoken to people from all over the U.K. and overseas.

What have you done this weekend?

We are looking for Scout and Beaver leaders - Every little helps, even if you can’t do every week, please reach out to Susie, Phil or Jack.

It’s not just Beavers, Cubs or Scouts who we encourage to do “their best” and challenge themselves. Akela (a.k.a Chris) is half way through a “Run 31 miles in January” challenge in aid of Motor Neurone Disease Association. If anyone would like to donate to this very worthy cause, please click on the link in this post, or share this post with friends to help spread the message of this wonderful charity 😊

Highly recommend this if any parent wants to book a place for their child.

You need to make all the arrangements individually.

Both my sons have done 2 events by the Scout Archeology team and have loved both.
