I've re-written the ghost talk I gave in the autumn as an article. I find people's beliefs, both in favour of and against ghosts, fascinating. I hope others enjoy the stories and the way people thought about spirits of the dead. The link is here:

Opposed by materialists, and sometimes victims of fraud, many continued to be disturbed or comforted by ghosts.

I've enjoyed thinking about nineteenth century views on ghosts and spirits, plus sharing the results with a lively audience. I found their laughter and questions really encouraging.

I've just published an article about a forgotten South Derbyshire author who protested against social injustice in the education system and proposed a revolutionary remedy. She wrote in 1921. You can read about her here:
