Lewes Speakers Club We help people speak confidently and eloquently in public. Are You Nervous Giving Presentations? Are You Struggling To Write A Speech?

Or Are You Looking For A Place To Practise Speaking? If your answer is "yes", you have come to the right place. At Lewes Speakers Club, you will have an opportunity to practise, refine your public speaking skill, and learn from experienced public speakers. We welcome people to come and observe until you are ready to join. We are part of Toastmasters International, a non-profit international organ

isation, founded in 1924 to help people better their public communication skill. Join us and take the first step to becoming a better public speaker and communicator!

Westgate Chapel was cool 😎 last night and so were our speakers!!

A ‘speakerthon’ we had speeches of different lengths & styles all evening. And a sneaky impromptu session for our guests who did incredibly well.

An evening of firsts.

2 Icebreaker speeches

This is the first-ever speech that someone gives when they join Toastmasters. Probably your most nerve-racking and probably the most memorable speech you'll ever give.

Molly and Amelia smashed it with their speeches and should feel so proud of themselves.

Charlie took on the role of Toastmaster (this person runs the evening!) also for the first time, and did a wonderful job. The evening ran smoothly, everyone knew what to expect, and of course, we finished on time :)

Lovely to see our visitors last night too, Johnathan, Dawn, Guy and Aaron. Can't wait to see you again.

A cool chapel to inspire and connect.

Three amazing tips for keynote speakers:

1. Never be late!

2.Make sure you’ve got all you
tech ( including chargers etc)

3.Remember “ If it is to be, it’s up to me”….

In other words, always have a plan B. For example: practice your speech without the slides.

Lovely evening as always and we also elected in our new committee and President.

What really goes on at a Toastmasters meeting?

Well, we hope these photos give you a sense of the fun, inclusivity & fabulous speakers.

We had an Icebreaker talk last night from Charlie. This was his first ever speech and is probably everyone’s most nerve racking. Because it’s your first one!

He did an amazing job and got some great feedback that he can use next time he’s on stage.
