End of an Era
Just to let you all know that I have applied to close Well-being Tree as a company.
It is a decision which has taken me more than a year to come to. After the other directors had to leave I was really hoping to be able to pass it on to some other enthusiastic people who would then let it evolve into something slightly different, then I could step back, support them and watch it grow. I found quite a few interested people and had some meetings with them all, but unfortunately no one who wanted to take on the full responsibility, as there is quite an element of unpaid work involved and most people are too busy.
It is nearly 5 years since we set it up on 29th January 2021 after the Oyster Project groups stopped running, and I feel so happy about all the lovely memories we have created together.
I am sad but also relieved to officially let it go and say to myself that it is the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.
Regular members will continue to meet up socially, as we have been over the last year even though there have been no groups running.
I really want to thank everyone who has been connected to us, whether you came to one of our many Artwave exhibitions, a workshop, came to chat at a stall, or were on the Hampshire School for Social Entrepreneurs course with me.
Thanks for all those happy memories and for your encouragement, enthusiasm and creativity. It was a wonderful time for me when we were doing lots of projects and working with many different inspiring artists, writers and musicians.
We have a small amount of money left in the bank and have decided to donate this to Movingsounds, as they brought their joyous music and happy faces for us to dance for outdoor picnics at various times of the year, Keith was also very helpful to me with advice when I was setting it up as a Community Interest Company and had no idea what to do.
Thank you to all of the team, which has changed and evolved throughout the years, especially to Lisa Guile who has been a strong backbone and emotional support throughout as a co-director, helping me by immensely improving the wording in funding applications with her expertise in this area and providing a calm clear head to check through the accounts with me.
I feel honoured to have had the experience of this time as part of Well-being Tree. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, with their time, enthusiasm, or donations, we really couldn't have done it without you!
