That’s a wrap!

Last night was Finals Night and Ladies Night and it didn’t disappoint.

We’ve had the most amazing week, not just because of the weather, but due to the support you’ve shown the event.

Skittles Week is an integral part of Lewes Life and, although a lot of work goes on behind the scenes, we couldn’t do it without the support of you… the teams, the advertisers and our members and volunteers.

Results were as follows:
Overall Winners: Bindire
Runners Up : FOMO Anonymous
Ladies Winners: Skittle Scuttlers
Ladies Runners: Glitzy Gals
Highest Team Score: The Six Bowlsman of the Apocalypse (284)
Highest Pub Score: King’s Head ‘B’ (269)
Highest Bonfire Society Score: Nevill Juvenile BS (248)
Highest Service Club Score: Lewes Round Table ‘2’ (268)

Big shout out to Waterloo Bonfire Society and Commercial Square Bonfire Society for supplying the food and drinks. We hope you had a great time.

Here’s a few photos from the end of fabulous week.

See you in 2027! 😜

IT’S FINALS NIGHT!

After a nervous Thursday afternoon due to heavy rain, the clouds parted, the sun shone and we had a 4th fabulous evening of Rotary Skittles with another 200+ players and spectators.

Due to the rain, the going was fair to soft and the lane mats were extra slick so we saw some high scores. The following 5 teams qualified for the finals tonight:

Six Bowlsmen of the Apocalypse (284)
Casual Effort Minimal Skill (280)
Skulldrummery (273)
FOMO anonymous (267)
Naked Leg Wrestlers (266)

Tonight is also the Ladies Night!

The evening kicks off at 7pm as usual and is open and free to all spectators. There will be a collection on the gate (card and cash) with ALL proceeds going to Friends of Lewes Victoria Hospital and St Peter & St James Hospice.

Tonights raffle is in aid of Army Benevolent Fund so please do support them.

As usual Commercial Square Bonfire Society will be running a fully stocked bar and Waterloo Bonfire Society will be offering burgers (meat and veggie), hotdogs and pulled park plus coffees and teas.

All that’s left to say is we hope you have had an amazing week and we finish with glorious weather and the trophy presentations.

Thank you everyone for your support.

Three nights down, two to go...

Wednesday was another high scoring day with the following five teams qualifying for the finals on Friday:

The Lost Buoys (280)
Lewes Round Table '2' (265)
Lewes Round Table '1' (265)
Kick Up The Airs (265)
King's Church '1' (263)

Three teams on identical scores made for a nervous few moments for our scorers and the expectant teams at the end of the evening!

If you've not been to the Grange to see what all the fun is about, you've got two nights left this year.

The evening kicks off at 7pm each night. The event is open and free to all spectators. There will be a collection on the gate (card and cash) with ALL proceeds going to Friends of Lewes Victoria Hospital and St Peter & St James Hospice. Tonights raffle is in aid of Pells Pool so please do support them.

As usual Commercial Square Bonfire Society will be running a fully stocked bar and Waterloo Bonfire Society will be offering burgers (meat and veggie), hotdogs and pulled park plus coffees and teas.

All that’s left to say is we hope you have another great evening and we look forward to seeing you all.

Wow. What a great opening night.

Thanks to everyone who came along, we hope you had as good an evening as us. Thanks to the Mayor of Lewes, Councillor Adrian Ross, for his opening words and bowling the traditional first ball. (pictured with Rotary President, Steven Haasz).

Beer flowed, burgers eaten, balls bowled and raffles won! Perfect!

The top five teams through to Friday’s final are:

Brinky's Boys (283)
OSPCC ‘2’ (272)
Brindire (270)
Fast Lane (262)
Brinky’s Bunch (261)

So tonight we start all over again. Exactly the same format with a collection on the gate for St Peter And St James Hospice and Friends of Lewes Victoria Hospital. Only difference is tonight’s raffle is run by Lewes Borough Bonfire Society.

If you’re posting on your socials please tag us The Rotary Club of Lewes and . We’d love to see your posts.

See you tonight at 7pm.

The annual Skittles Week kicks off this evening at the Lewes Grange Gardens and our members have been busy setting up over the weekend.

The Mayor of Lewes, Councillor Adrian Ross, will roll the first ball to open the weeks activities at 7pm.

Each night 32 teams from local businesses, community groups, pubs, bonfire societies and groups of friends jump into competitive mode in the hope to make the finals on Friday night and hopefully take home one of the coveted trophies for the year.

As usual Commercial Square Bonfire Society will be running a fully stocked bar and Waterloo Bonfire Society will be offering burgers (meat and veggie), hotdogs and pulled park plus coffees and teas.

The event is open and free to all spectators. There will be a collection on the gate (card and cash) with ALL proceeds going to St Peter And St James Hospice and Friends of Lewes Victoria Hospital.

Each night there’s also a raffle. Bring cash just in case, as all charities may not have card machines. Tonight’s charity is Landport Community Hub so please do support them.

All that’s left to say is we hope you have a fantastic week and we look forward to seeing you all.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of helping out with the Lewes Food Bank Easter Collection. We were outside Waitrose with others collecting outside Aldi and Tesco. Not quite a record, but 8378 items collected!
