This session, chaired by Laura Mahon from Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs, highlighted the impact of drug-related deaths on young people and families.

We first heard from Clued Up Youth Forum, part of the Clued Up Project, who shared young people’s perspectives on the impact of drug-related harms. This was followed by Stephanie Morrison from Families Campaign for Change, who spoke about the impact of drug-related deaths on families.

The session concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A, providing an opportunity to reflect on the issues raised and explore how we can better support young people and families affected by drug-related deaths.

What do you think needs to happen to better support families and young people affected by drug-related deaths?

This was followed by AJ Martin, Co-Project Lead of the Benzo Research Project, who explored 'Drugs, Autism and Self Stigma'.

The session concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A, offering further insight into the relationship between neurodiversity, stigma and substance use.

Some of the WithYou team were at the Scottish Drugs Forum's conference this week.

It gave us a chance to meet people from services across Scotland, hear about new ways of keeping people safer, like new drug-checking facilities, and talk about the support that's out there for anyone affected by drugs or alcohol.

If you or someone you know needs support, we're here.
