A huge thank you to 1003 Leighton Buzzard Squadron ATC!

Despite the wind and rain, 15 Cadets and 6 Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAV) were out collecting for the Poppy Appeal at Tesco today.

We're so grateful for their time, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting our Armed Forces community.

Thank you to every cadet who took part, and to everyone who stopped to donate ❤️

Today marks the launch of the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal, and here in Leighton Buzzard, our wonderful volunteers are ready to get started.

Over the coming weeks, our community will come together to remember those who have served and sacrificed, whilst raising vital funds to support serving personnel, veterans and their families.

Our Poppy Appeal stall will be on the High Street on:

Tues 27 October
Sat 31 October
Tues 3 November

Pop along to make a donation, pick up your poppy, say hello to our friendly volunteers and learn more about the important work of the RBL.

You'll also find our fantastic volunteers collecting in local supermarkets, with poppy boxes available in shops, pubs and businesses across the town.

Together, we remember. Together, we make a difference.

The Leighton Buzzard Poppy Appeal was delighted to receive a generous £4,000 donation from Old Dunstablians' Lodge 5974 to kick-start its campaign this year.

As you'll read in this article, the donation was given in memory of long-time Poppy Appeal volunteer, Wally Randall, who was a good friend of the Old Dunstablians' and member of the Masons. It's incredible to see the legacy of his service continue.

We're so grateful to benefit from this wonderful donation which will support our Armed Forces veterans and their families - what a terrific way to begin our local fundraising effort!

Look out for Poppy Appeal volunteers who will be out and about in Leighton Buzzard, collecting donations from 22 November.

We're really looking forward to tonight's Poppy Concert performed by the wonderful The Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion - and guest performances from Chanteuses and Lissie Allsopp.

The concert is a fantastic way to begin the period of Remembrance, Poppy Appeal, and is always well supported by the community.

We’re getting ready for this year’s Poppy Appeal, and we’re looking for volunteers to help us make it a success.

If you can spare a little time between 22 Oct and 11 Nov, we’d love to have you join us.

We have market stall collections on: Sat 24 Oct, Tues 27 Oct, Sat 31 Oct, Tues 3 Nov. Plus opportunities to collect in local supermarkets on flexible dates.

You don’t need experience and you don't need to be a serving member of the Armed Forces or a veteran - just a friendly face and a willingness to help. Full guidance is given.
