You can drive to our Pages Park Station where we offer free parking. If arriving in Leighton Buzzard by train (London Northwestern Railway), it is approximately 30 minutes' walk to our station. Alternatively, you can take the new hourly L1 bus service, leaving the mainline station at 05 minutes past the hour, arriving at our railway at 15 minutes past the hour. As it is a circular service, you can board outside our station at 15 minutes past and return to the mainline station around 33 minutes past. All other bus services leave from Morrisons, around 10 minutes' walk up the road from our station.

Just 1 week to go until our 2026 Steam Gala,taking place on 24th & 25th October!

With 7 locomotives hauling trains, 4 different sets operating an intensive service, dusk running, double and triple headers,and much more, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant weekend of steam!

🚂 Steam Gala – The Barclay Sisters

Our two resident Andrew Barclay sisters, Doll and Gertrude, will both be starring at this year’s Steam Gala, taking place on the 24th and 25th of October! They’ll also be joined by a third Andrew Barclay in the form of Cegin, visiting courtesy of the Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust.

This could be a rare sight, with all three locomotives together in one place, and it promises to make a fantastic spectacle! You’ll be able to see them working individually, as well as enjoy two special triple-header trips during the event – one on Saturday evening and another on Sunday morning!

🚂 2026 Steam Gala Timetable 🚂

The wait is over! We are delighted to finally unveil the timetable for our 2026 Steam Gala.

Many hours of hard work, careful planning and more than a little head-scratching have gone into preparing this year’s programme, and we hope it will provide a memorable weekend.

The timetable features a number of special trips, including double-headed trains and, most notably, a very special Andrew Barclay triple-header. There will also be the opportunity to see Chaloner and Peter Pan hauling trains individually, recreating scenes reminiscent of the railway’s early days of preservation.

As daylight fades, the steam will continue to run, with services operating into dusk on both days. The sight and sound of steam locomotives working into the evening should provide a fitting spectacle, and some excellent opportunities for those wishing to capture the railway as the sun goes down.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you for what we hope to be a memorable weekend, and we hope you’ll join us for our 2026 Gala taking place on the 24th and 25th of October!

Peter Pan also hauling solo trains at our 2026 Gala!

Peter Pan will once again be staring in our 2026 gala taking place on the 24th and 25th of October and even hauling some services solo!

She is a Wren Class 0-4-0ST built by Kerr Stuart & Co in Stoke on Trent in 1922. Works no 4256 the locomotive worked for the Devon County Council at Beacon Down Quarry and she was then bought and preserved by Graham Morris and has run here at Leighton Buzzqrd for many years since. In 2019 the engine was overhauled and fitted with a new boiler and tank with traditional riveted construction and celebrated its Centenary in 2022.

She will once again be entertaining visitors at our gala this year running both solo and with Chaloner during the weekend!

🚂 Steam Gala News! 🚂

Joining us at Stonehenge Works Station will be German traction engine Kemna No. 4327, built in 1918.

This year, the engine has also recently completed an epic journey from Sussex, through London, all the way up to Old Warden for the Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre!

A huge thank you to Michael for bringing the engine along and helping make our gala even more special.

We are hoping to have a few more join us over the course of the weekend so watch this space!

🚂 Steam Gala Announcement! 🚂

We’re delighted to announce that Andrew Barclay No. 1919 of 1931, “Cegin”, will be visiting us for our Steam Gala on the 24th and 25th of October!

A huge thank you to Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust for giving us the opportunity to welcome this wonderful locomotive to the railway. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity for the locomotive to join our lineup for the weekend.

“Cegin” will be joining our resident Andrew Barclay locomotives, “Doll” and “Gertrude”, making three Andrew Barclays in steam during the event! This will be a fantastic sight to see throughout the weekend — and, most excitingly, it will be the first time all three locomotives have been together! 🚂🚂🚂
