**How is the proposed quarry affecting you?**

Stop Methley Quarry wants to hear your story.

What has this proposal meant for you and your family? How has it made you feel? Has it affected your health and wellbeing, your plans for the future, your home life, your business, or your peace of mind?

While not every personal impact is considered a material planning matter, it matters to us. We want to understand the full picture of how this proposal is affecting our community.

Stop Methley Quarry will be at the Community Centre from **10am–2pm on 27 June** to listen to residents and capture their experiences, ensuring that no voice goes unheard in our efforts to explain why this quarry should not be allowed.

We would like to hear from as many people as possible and encourage you to share as much detail as you feel comfortable with.

If you know someone who has been affected, please encourage them to come along and tell their story.

Hargreaves have decided their quarry application needs revisions and it will no longer go before the May Plans Panel. Leeds City Council has extended the planning timetable from 29 May 2026 to 30 September 2026.

This follows strong objections from residents and organisations across the area. It appears Hargreaves recognised the application, as submitted, was unlikely to gain approval.

This is a positive step for our campaign — Hargreaves still do NOT have permission to quarry.

MMRA will continue opposing the application and challenging any revised plans. Thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far. We’ll keep residents updated through social media, notices, and this page.

Reminder of our drop-in event this Saturday.
Please note Leeds Planning Portal was updated Yesterday evening after an agreed extention of time between LCC and Hargreaves. The new expiry date is 29th May 2026.

Stop Methley Quarry will be in St Margaret's Hall tomorrow 10am to 12 noon. Why not pop by to see us. We will be accepting cash donations towards the quarry campaign, and also taking orders for our T-Shirts and Hoodies. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow. 😀
