Objectives:-

• To provide advocacy and support to assist people to realise their potential,
• To provide a space for activity to take place, and
• To ensure individuals are put at the heart of what we do, to influence better treatment journeys.

There is no shortage of services operating in Leeds to support people struggling with alcohol or drug addiction and/or mental ill health. Many people get themselves stable again with the support of these agencies. However, we don't think that is the end of the story. Many people leaving services still feel isolated, unsure of what to do next and may not have anyone they can talk to about how they feel. We have set up the Space to offer a next step. Courses, support groups, art/knitting groups are available, but above all the Space is somewhere safe for people in recovery to come together and have a cup of tea, a bit of a chinwag, and also help to build a strong recovery community for our city to support others to believe in the possibility of recovery and to give it a go.

To get here: - On foot: - We are about 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Walk out of the city centre, going North, from Upper Briggate to North Street, through Sheepscar, to the South end of Chapeltown Road. Look out for a bus stop (well before the Mandela Centre) and look to your left for a path going down a grassy slope in to Gemini Business Park. By Bus: - Get the 2, 3, 3a or 48 from Upper Briggate (opposite the Grand Theatre). Alight at the third stop. Look to your left for a path down a grassy slope in to Gemini Business Park. By Car: - Drive out of the city centre going North through Sheepscar and going on to Scotthall Road. Turn right in to Sheepscar Way. Our post code is LS7 3JB.

The Space, where people moving on from alcohol, drug or mental health issues come together to socialise, learn new skills and engage in activities.

We are open Monday - Friday 9AM -5PM with our team here to support you on your recovery journey.

Evenings and weekends there are numerous mutual aid groups - including NA (Narcotics Anonymous,) SMART Recovery, CA (Co***ne Anonymous,) AA (Alcoholics Anonymous.)
