Finding the right job can be difficult when you’re managing a long-term health condition or disability.

That’s where our Healthy Working Life Supported Employment (HWLSE) programme can help.

You’ll get 1:1 support tailored around you, whether you’re looking for work or already employed and worried about losing your job.

You could be eligible if you:
📍 Live in Leeds
💼 Are unemployed or at risk of losing your job
♿ Have a long-term health condition or disability

Autumn is starting to show up at Nowell Mount. 🍂🌱

The days are getting a little shorter, the leaves are starting to change and there are already a few signs that the garden is moving into its next season.

Our Roots & Shoots volunteers have been busy making the most of the summer growing season and now we're starting to see what autumn has in store. 🥕🍂

There’s always something happening at the community garden, whatever the season. Fancy coming along and getting involved?

“Just one more story?” 📚💗

It might feel like a tiny moment at the end of a busy day, but those little reading moments can stay with a child for years.

The favourite book they ask for again and again. The characters they get excited about. The moment they start recognising the words themselves.

This is the kind of love of reading Dolly Parton wanted to inspire when she started her Imagination Library in 1995, and it’s a legacy we’re incredibly proud to continue here in East Leeds.

Through the programme, eligible children can receive a free book every month until their 5th birthday, delivered straight to their home.

You'll have a motivational coach and access to an in-house counsellor who can help you build confidence, work through barriers and explore options like work, training or volunteering, without putting pressure on you to have everything figured out.

Sometimes you just need someone in your corner while you work it out. 🩵

And just like that, six years of community ABCD work has come to an end. 🩵

Yesterday, we came together at Nowell Mount to celebrate everything that has been over the past six years.

It was a lovely afternoon filled with familiar faces, conversations and plenty of memories. Most importantly, it was a chance to celebrate the people who have made it all happen and the difference that can be made when communities come together.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the ABCD journey. We’ve loved being part of it.

Dolly believed in giving back, helping others and giving children the chance to dream big. That’s exactly what her Imagination Library continues to do.

Here in East Leeds, children aged five and under can receive a free, high-quality book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Today, we’re asking you to Give Like Dolly and help us keep those books coming. 💕

Every donation to our Imagination Library helps support the cost of providing books to local children, so if you’d like to help carry Dolly’s incredible legacy forward, today is the perfect day to do it.

We recently celebrated the birthday of one of our lovely volunteers, so of course, it was only right to mark the occasion with cake! 🎂

We’re so lucky to have such a brilliant group of volunteers who give their time and bring so much to Roots & Shoots. We always like to show them how much we appreciate everything they do.

It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of the ABCD journey and to see first-hand what can happen when people, communities and ideas come together.

And now, we’d love you to join us at Nowell Mount Community Centre on Sunday 27th September to celebrate.

Come along, meet local groups, see what’s been achieved, share your ideas for the future and find out how you could get involved with a community project of your own.

What if your job was helping someone find a job that actually works for them? 🧡

We’re looking for a Key Worker & Employer Liaison to support people in Leeds who may face additional barriers to employment, including long-term health conditions or disabilities.

You’ll work one-to-one with people to understand what they want from work, help them take the steps towards it and stay alongside them as they move into employment.

You’ll also work with local employers to create opportunities and help make sure the right support is in place when someone starts a new role.

If you’re a people person who wants to see the difference your work makes, we’d love to hear from you.

📍 Leeds, face-to-face role
⏰ 21+ hours per week
💷 £26,815-£28,462.50 FTE
