What an incredible Healthy Holidays 2026! 🌟 Our young people enjoyed a summer packed with adventure — bowling, cooking, exploring the aquarium, den-building in the woods, and hands-on nature crafts. Thank you to everyone who made this programme so special! 💛

Over the past few weeks at our Healing Horizons Domestic Violence Survivors Group, we have explored awareness of domestic abuse, the cycle of abuse, inner child healing, understanding why we can find ourselves repeating unhealthy patterns, and trauma-informed meditation to support recovery and self-awareness.
This week, we focused on nurturing both mind and body through grounding techniques, Tai Chi, somatic practices, and breathwork exercises. These activities can help regulate the nervous system, particularly when it becomes stuck in survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. By gently reconnecting with our bodies, we can begin to cultivate a greater sense of safety and wellbeing.
We also embraced a moment of joy and freedom by spending time on the swings, giving our inner child permission to play, laugh, and simply be.
Healing isn't always about looking back; sometimes it's about creating safe moments in the present, reconnecting with ourselves, and allowing joy back into our lives.
The Healing Horizons Domestic Violence Survivors Group runs every Friday at 9:30am at Shantona Community Haven.
