We offer a variety of services, including Family Advice, Short Breaks, Dragon’s Retreat Respite, Brokerage, and Payroll Services. Our work is built around each child’s individual needs, while offering practical and emotional support to their families. Who We Support

Are Beams is helping around 450 families across Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and surrounding areas. We support children with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, physical or sensory impairments, and complex health conditions. Our Mission
Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services to children and young people with any form of physical, learning or sensory impairment living in Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks and the surrounding areas. We aim to support the whole family through a range of services that directly benefit and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child. Our Vision

This Thursday at We Are Beams – Explore & Discover for children under 5 🌊☀️🐚

Our weekly Explore and Discover group at We Are Beams is a warm, welcoming and inclusive session designed especially for children under 5, helping to spark curiosity and learning through play.

This Thursday, we’re heading on a seaside adventure!

Little ones can enjoy:
🎨 Sensory and messy play
🎭 Creative, hands-on activities
📚 Stories and songs
🧸 Free exploration with gentle structure and routine

Each session is carefully themed and designed to support early development in a fun, relaxed environment.

This Thursday – 11th June
10:30–11:30am & 12:00–1:00pm
£3 per child (under 1s go free)

Support We Are Beams and BID ON CHILDREN'S CREATIVE WORK 🎨

We are delighted to be the beneficiary charity of the Primary School Community Art Exhibition, featuring wonderful artwork created and donated by local primary school children.

Inspired by their favourite book characters, the children have produced some truly imaginative and colourful creations, all of which are available to bid on.

Every bid helps raise vital funds for We Are Beams, supporting disabled children, young people and their families across our local community.

Help us make a real difference for little ones and their families 💜

We need your support to launch our Under 5s Healthy Eating Initiative. Fun, hands-on cookery sessions for young children and their parents 👩‍🍳🍎

These sessions will help children explore food in a positive way, build confidence, develop motor skills and form healthy habits early on. Parents will receive valuable guidance and support from a trained family advisor during this crucial stage.

✨ Your support will directly help us deliver:
Interactive workshops for 30 children under 5
Vital early support for families navigating a possible disability diagnosis
Stronger confidence, well-being, and family bonds
We’ve already raised over £3,000 thanks to 28 generous supporters, but we still need your help to make this initiative happen and reach our target.

Taking support to new heights! 🏆

We’re so proud of our incredible Patron, Paralympian & Commonwealth medallist Johnboy Smith.

On 25th June, he’s climbing the O2 Arena in his wheelchair – 365 metres high – to raise vital funds for disabled children and families.

JohnBoy’s strength and positivity continue to inspire everyone around him, especially the children and young people supported by our charity. We are incredibly proud to have such an inspiring Patron.

What an incredible day at our Beams & Besties Character Tea! 💜

We’re still smiling from such a wonderful afternoon! We’re absolutely delighted to share that the event raised over £1,200 for disabled children and their families. 🎉
It was so lovely to see so many families laughing, dancing and making beautiful memories together. The children’s faces lighting up during the character meet & greets and performances made it all so special ✨

A big heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, volunteered, or supported the day!

ATTENTION BEAMS MEMBER FAMILIES!

Our Summer Holiday Clubs☀️ are now LIVE and ready to book!

Spaces are limited, so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note that we are unable to take bookings over the phone – all bookings must be made using the forms within our Summer Programme.

We've got an exciting summer planned, with activities taking place at Bowles Adventure Centre, St Andrews Lakes, Chatham Maritime Watersports Centre, Whiteoak Leisure Centre, Margate Seafront, and more! 🚣‍♀️🏖️

Activities include:

🚣 Kayaking and canoeing
🏄 Paddleboarding and sailing
🏹 Archery and wall climbing
🎯 Obstacle courses and zip wires
🌈 Sensory play and glow-in-the-dark activities
⚽ Sports coaching, tennis and badminton
🏖️ Beach trips, arcades and seaside adventures

These sessions give children and young people the opportunity to try new activities, spend time with friends, build confidence and create lasting memories over the summer holidays.
