Today, we honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of older people around the world.
At RETAS Leeds, we meet many elderly refugees and asylum seekers who have shown incredible courage in leaving behind their homes and rebuilding their lives in a new country. Their stories remind us that it is never too late to learn, to start again, and to belong. 💙
But we also know that older people often face unique challenges: isolation, language barriers, and health concerns. That’s why our programmes aim to provide not only practical support, but also companionship, dignity, and hope. 🌍

🙏 On this day, let’s come together to:
Respect and celebrate older people in our communities,
Recognise the challenges they face,
Support initiatives that bring them comfort and connection.
✨ Every act of kindness counts. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind.

At RETAS Leeds, we support refugees and asylum seekers with education, food, and integration programmes — helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
