We’re proud of the work our team continues to do in supporting grieving children and young people across our community.

Our recent morning bereavement support sessions in Leamington, delivered during the school day, have been a real success. Running these sessions in school hours has helped make support more accessible for children and young people who may find after-school sessions more difficult to attend.

Thank you to everyone involved in making these sessions such a positive experience.

We’re looking forward to attending the Coventry Canal Society Lock Wind Day on Saturday 6th June.

Guy’s Gift will be there on the day to talk about the work we do supporting bereaved children and young people, while also supporting the event’s fundraising activities.
If you’re visiting, come and say hello.

Safeguarding is always a priority across everything we do at Guy’s Gift.

Recently, our volunteer took part in their annual safeguarding refresher training with Rebecca, helping ensure we continue to provide safe, supportive spaces for children, young people and families.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for their continued commitment.

When grief meets exam season.

One of our volunteers, Molly, has written a thoughtful blog about the challenges children and young people can face when grief and exams happen at the same time.
It explores the pressure of expectations, emotional wellbeing, and why support matters during difficult periods.

The power of volunteers can be felt across every part of Guy’s Gift.

They bring a wealth of skills, experience, and compassion that helps us directly support bereaved children and young people, while also strengthening the wider work of the charity.

From supporting events and fundraising, to sharing ideas, fresh perspectives, and practical expertise, volunteers help us grow in ways that go far beyond the hours they give.

Their energy, passion, and commitment help us reach more families, strengthen our community presence, and continue developing the support we offer.

We are so grateful for the time, care, and knowledge our volunteers bring to Guy’s Gift.

Friendship can play a powerful role in supporting bereaved children and young people.

While adults often focus on formal support, the quiet presence of a trusted friend can also make a real difference, whether that is sitting together at break time, sending a message, including them in plans, or simply being alongside them on difficult days.

For parents, carers, and schools, encouraging positive peer connection can help reduce isolation and remind young people that they are still part of their friendship circles, even when life feels different.

Often, it is the small everyday moments of kindness and inclusion that help grief feel a little less lonely.

Could you join Team Guy’s Gift this summer for a fabulous fundraising challenge?

On 1st August 2026, we’re taking on an unforgettable challenge, abseiling down Coventry Cathedral to raise vital funds for bereaved children and young people across Coventry and Warwickshire.

We have 2 fundraising places up for grabs, and we’re looking for people who want to challenge themselves, support a local charity, and be part of something special.

Whether you’re doing it in memory of someone important, taking on a personal goal, or simply want to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Each participant will be asked to raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship, and we’ll support you with fundraising ideas, resources, and plenty of encouragement along the way.

If going 'over the edge' isn’t for you, you can still join us on the day by cheering on the team and helping create an amazing Guy’s Gift atmosphere at Coventry Cathedral.

Today we are delighted to welcome our newest in-person bereavement support group in Leamington.

We are excited to be heading to a new to us community venue in Leamington for these sessions, helping us continue to reach children and young people in welcoming spaces across the local area.

In-person groups can be especially powerful for children and young people who benefit from meeting others face to face, building connection through shared experiences, gentle activities, and meaningful conversation.

By offering both virtual and in-person support, families can choose the option that feels right for their child and what will best meet their needs.

We are looking forward to meeting the new group this morning.
