Says Nirmala, the expert: ‘You can freak out, feeling totally purposeless, or you can embrace a big purpose and make it come true’.”

Nirmala Bhandari was one of the earliest members of the Hope Centre family. Now a confident speaker on disability awareness, a world-class para-athlete, and Inspirational Woman of Nepal 2019, she has set up her own foundation and is currently making her way to Everest Base Camp.

Nirmala recently sat down with Nepal Connect and spoke candidly about her experience of being a disabled person in Nepal.

We are delighted to share the news that an educational material package has been presented to Gudel Secondary School in the Mahakulung region of Nepal. Supported by New Futures Nepal and Nepal English Education Foundation (USA/Canada) in coordination with Dilip Singh Kulung (President of Everest Mera Foundation), 526 student tracksuits, 21 adult tracksuits for teachers, 2 smart boards, and various other educational materials, were included in the package.

School principal Chhalak Ram Rai expressed his gratitude to the helping donors.

We would like to thank the Everest Mera Foundation for their coordination of this aid effort, the supporters of New Futures Nepal and Nepal English Education Foundation - NEEF, and Kenilworth Lions (who funded one of the smart boards).
