A huge thank to everyone who came to our Disco Chop last week Gateway Collective

We chopped, we danced, we ate. Together we saved 100kg of food going to waste!

We had plenty of jobs to do as we created multiple summer salads using carrots, onions, salad beans and fresh herbs.

Through simple recipes, we made delicious meals which stopped food going to waste.

Keep your eyes peeled for more Disco Chops to come 👀🧅

With a huge thank you to Queen of Greens for supplying us with their surplus produce 🥕

Where good food systems are working, it’s because of likeminded people.

Kindling Farm growing it. Queen of Greens delivering it, door to door, street to street, at a fair price, with dignity.

Most people agree the UK food system is broken. We also know it doesn’t have to be. We see the alternative every week, built by people who chose purpose over profit.

Both our Queen of Greens bus and friends at Kindling Farm feature in “From the Ground Up” after the Citizen Advisory Council came to see our work in action.

That’s the difference between a food desert and a doorstep full of fresh fruit and veg.

We are excited to announce our first Disco Chop in Sefton 🪩

We are working with the incredible Gateway Collective to host a free community meal.

Our Disco Chops will use up surplus food that would have otherwise gone to waste. Every attendee is welcome to help us chop, cook and then share the meal. Soundtracked by a funky disco beat, come down for good music, good vibes and delicious food.

This week on the Queen of Greens you can get organic strawberries from our friends at Kindling Farm 🍓🍓🍓

Our Project Manager Matthew headed to the farm in Tarbock Green to pick them up. We know how important local and seasonal produce is to creating a sustainable and fair food system. And luckily for us, it's strawberry season! ❤️

Our mobile greengrocer has stops across Liverpool, find out your nearest stop at queenofgreens.co.uk

Our has been supported by Bridge the Gap to stock and sell organic produce without passing the cost onto the customer.

People want organic produce because it's better for them and the planet. Sustain's NEW Bridging the Gap report looks into how this can be achieved on the consumer end.

We know at Alchemic Kitchen that one way is to drive fresh produce directly to communities with our mobile greengrocer.

Our Community Education Officers, Heidi and Jess, are at Huyton today!

We are setting up stops across Knowsley and we want to hear from the community on how the bus can work best for them.

When added a £1 optional donation to their diners’ bills – it was about showing up for the communities around them.
That kind of backing means can keep doing what it does: bringing fresh, affordable seasonal produce to neighbourhoods across Liverpool and Knowsley, with flexible ways to pay and recipe ideas to go with it.
Those pounds added up to an amazing £1,343.71 donated recently. A brilliant reminder of what happens when local businesses choose to be part of something bigger.
Thank you Manifest. Thank you to every diner who said yes!
