Colour Run Important Info - incase you missed the EMAIL

Dear Parents & Carers,

We are so excited for our upcoming Colour Run on Friday 22nd May and wanted to share some important information to help everyone prepare for a fun and colourful afternoon!

What children should wear:

Please ensure your child comes prepared with:

Old shorts, trousers or leggings

Old trainers/shoes

Clothes you do not mind getting colourful or messy

A bottle of water

The powder used may stain clothing, so we strongly recommend wearing old items.

Hair & Colour Powder Advice

The colour powder is safe and designed to wash away easily, however we do recommend taking a few precautions โ€” especially for lighter hair colours.

Please try not to leave the powder sitting in hair for too long once it becomes wet, as this can occasionally leave temporary traces of colour. If your child has blonde, lightened or highlighted hair, applying a small amount of hair oil beforehand can help prevent staining and make washing the powder out easier afterwards.

For extra protection, a cap or bandana is also a great option.

Please be aware that occasionally it can take a day or two for any remaining traces of powder to fully disappear. The vibrant colours on faces, arms and legs wipe away easily, and a quick shower normally removes the rest with ease.

On arrival

Children will be given their t-shirts in class on Friday, if your child does not need it please hand it back to the HSL team or let us know as soon as possible. All children from West Winch Primary School will be given time to change in class, my recommendation is that you pack any other items you want them to wear in their school bag for the day (i.e old shorts/leggings etc). Shoes can be changed on the field.

Please head to the collection table before taking part to check in and collect:

Sunglasses

It is recommended you bring an old towel (itโ€™s not essential but you might want to bring one)

T-shirts that are supplied are available in:

Small

Medium

Large

We strongly advise all children participating wear eye protection at all times during the run. Wrap-around goggles are the recommended option, however sunglasses will be provided for those who would like them.

Please be aware that siblings and parent runners are not provided with sunglasses, T shirts or medals, please dress appropriately and ensure you have suitable eye protection.

The Colour Run

The course is designed as a fun obstacle-style run.We will begin with a warm-up session before the event starts and recommend children complete approximately 2 laps of the course.

Once children have completed the run, please return to the collection station to collect their medal.

Capture the Colour!

At the end of the event, we will be gathering by the balloon arch for a special photo opportunity and we would love as many families as possible to join us.

Help us capture the colourful chaos, paint-covered smiles and unforgettable memories from what promises to be an amazing event! The brighter and messier the faces, the better the photos! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“ธ

Sponsorship money

Please ensure all sponsorship money is handed in at the tables before starting the run.

Donโ€™t forget there are two exciting prizes available:

๐Ÿ† Prize for the pupil with the highest fundraising total

๐Ÿ† Prize for the class with the highest fundraising amount

Food, treats & colour powder

Please bring cash along if you would like to purchase anything on the day. We will have:

Cake stalls for the end of half term

Refreshments

Popcorn

An ice cream van

Individual bags of colour powder available to purchase for parents to throw during the run

Safety

There will be first aid available at the collection table should anyone require assistance during the event.

Most importantly, this is a fun event for everyone to enjoy together, so please come along ready to have fun, get colourful and make some amazing memories!

Thank you so much for supporting us as the HSL and for continuing to support the school and our fundraising efforts โ€” we truly appreciate it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Kind regards,

West Winch HSL
