After last years huge support of circumnavigating the Isle of wight on paddle board, I am asking you again to get behind this great cause of a world record attempt . Paddle for Bobby - ISUP the Great River Ouse 135KM within 30 hours non stop - World Record attempt 24 May 22. After last years resilient challenge of circumnavigating the Isle of wight on a paddle board, it opened my eyes to the graf
t that goes in behind the closed doors. There is only 10 boarders in the world that completed that challenge and all mostly within 15 hours. Nature had other plans for me with wind and waves at 3m high and reaching to the depths of determination I couldn't let you guys down, even my support team wanted to abort due to safety. However movement was distance and some stages I could only hit 8Kph and some 500 metres ph. With that I managed 18 hours 13 mins, with calm weather it could of been 12 hours to hit the 90km route. That challenge gave me the confidence and perseverance to push harder and further for 2 great causes. Firstly to raise awareness for a fellow comrade of Cpl Bobby McCaigue. As many of you know I have been serving on and off within the airborne forces over the past 18 years. A memorable stint of this was with bobby McCaige. Bobby served not only in my current unit, but he was also a vital part of 16 Air Assault. Bobby was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2019. Initially he underwent surgery and radiotherapy – receiving numerous positive scan results. However, he suffered a recurrence in 2021 and now a terminal Diagnosis. To support this and Farleigh Hospice which provides hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses across mid Essex. Secondly Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSAR) is the Lowland Search and Rescue Team covering our county, often also assisting sister teams in the wider region. They’re a specialist team, called upon by the Police in the search for vulnerable missing people: a child, an elderly person living with dementia or even someone who is considering taking their own life. In each case, and many others, an emergency response is vital. Links to charities at bottom of page
As you could imagine a task like this requires support, I am fortunate enough to have the military backing on this conquest which will yet again ensure it will be smashed. However certain funding cannot come out of public fund. So I am looking for businesses in the Great river Ouse area or further a field to support my endeavours. I am looking for businesses to assist with the following:
1. Advertise the challenge including cost for merchandise branding.
2. Kit and equipment that can reach the world record. In return businesses will get promoted as much as I can, I will push business logos and information on all my promo for the event, as well as placing logos on all T-shirts, banners and flags that are produced, I will promote sponsors in any media interviews or interest. Main Sponsor - £please contact
Sponsors - £300
logo on rear of T-shirt, banners, flags. I also ask for for any business to also support from anyway they see fit. All funds will be towards charities and no profit will be made. If you would be kind enough to help with this world record challenge, in any capacity, please drop me a message with your business name and address
Kindest Regards
