Scientists are still discovering exactly what breastmilk can actually do…

It contains living cells.
Stem cells.
Tiny messengers that carry healing signals through the body.

It can help regulate the immune system, reduce inflammation…
and researchers are even exploring its role in fighting cancer.

And those clear circles in this photo?
That’s breast milk stopping bacteria in its tracks.

Your body makes something no lab has ever been able to fully recreate.

Something that adapts in real time.
Something that knows exactly what your baby needs.

This isn’t just milk.
This is biology at its most intelligent.

if you’ve ever been in awe of what your body can do. You’re allowed to be proud!

East Midlands Blood Bikes (EMBB) are a group of volunteers who provide vital services to the NHS completely free of charge. We deliver human breast milk, blood, medical supplies and equipment anywhere in the country.
Our services are provided 24/7. We provide this service at no cost at all to the NHS with a large emphasis on making a huge difference to public health, to help reduce bed blocking and save the NHS vast sums of money enabling them to provide a better service overall.
Blood and Blood Products - We provide a professional and reliable out of hours transport service for Blood and Blood products, 365 days a year. We also provide GP's with the ability to offer evening and weekend Clinics by transporting their samples to the Pathology Department so no more having to
take the day off work
Also a big thank you to Judy Richter of Charlie Farley Bike Tours who raised many hundred of pounds for our charity last year with her sponsored bike rides in aid of us, so if you fancy great tours at a reasonable price check out her website.

People often see the results of our charity work, but not the long hours, planning, and mental energy that goes on behind the scenes! 😅

Some days it’s overwhelming, but seeing the impact we make keeps us going.

A massive shoutout to all our volunteers—we couldn't do this without your dedication. 💙

This was sent to me today so I thought I would share it with you.
Once lost a charity job at final interview stage.

And I deserved to.

I had the right skills. I had the relevant experience. Yet lost to someone who simply cared more about the charity than I did.

The charity made the right call.

Charity work is hard. It can be emotionally draining. Sometimes thankless.

Not exactly the job description they put on the advert.

And when it gets tough, and it DOES get tough, the people who stay are the ones who genuinely believe in what they're doing.

Which is precisely why passion ISN'T optional in this sector.

Skills can be taught. Experience can be built.

But you can't manufacture passion for a cause. And interviewers who've been doing this a while can spot the difference within about thirty seconds.

This is so true when applying for a role in a charity it’s not what you can get out of it. It’s what you can bring to it.
We now have a community that cares about what we do not what they can get from it .
Occasionally we have issues with our volunteers but the true ones stay and keep our mission of saving lives the true meaning of what we do. #
