Deaf Awareness Week runs from 4-10 May 2026
Break down the barriers that are holding back full accessibility for those with hearing loss. Raising awareness of deaf culture and gives a voice to those within the community that deserve recognition. British sign language (BSL) is a language in its own right.

Home-Start Erewash is looking for volunteers to offer friendly, home-based support to parents who are feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or going through a tough time.

You’ll receive full training and ongoing support from the team, so you don’t need to be an expert – just caring, reliable, and ready to listen. If you’re a parent, carer, or have experience working alongside children, this could be a perfect role for you.
