Thank you so much for delivering such a useful training session!

This week, we were pleased to deliver a training session hosted by TSL Kirklees Volunteering, a charity that supports community groups, organisations, and charities across Kirklees.

The session gave us the opportunity to showcase how we've embedded a trauma-informed approach throughout The Welcome Centre, supporting not only the people who access our services but also our staff and volunteers.

It was fantastic to share our experiences and good practice with other third sector organisations, exchange ideas, and strengthen connections across the sector. Thank you to TSL for bringing everyone together for such a valuable opportunity.

A big thank you to Jill and Stacey from the The Welcome Centre. Food Bank and More who delivered a training session for us yesterday.
They shared how they have implemented a trauma-informed approach to supporting individuals in crisis who are accessing their services, as well as looking after their volunteers and staff. The session was also an opportunity for third sector organisations attending to share their own good practice and learn from each other.

**Ooh, this is a good one! πŸ‘€πŸ’œ**

The very wonderful Nova – who are a bit like us, just over in Wakefield – have a lovely job opportunity going for someone who knows their way around great communications and loves finding creative ways to get messages out into the world.

We have the pleasure of working with Nova regularly and can vouch for the fact they're a cracking bunch of people doing brilliant things for their communities. If you're passionate about storytelling, connecting people, creating engaging content and championing the voluntary and community sector, this could be right up your street.

So, if you're on the lookout for a new role – or know someone who is – why not take a peek?

All the details are in Nova's post below πŸ‘‡ Good luck!

πŸ’œβœ¨

We're hiring for a new role: Communications Officer 🌟

Nova is a small Wakefield-based charity that supports community groups, charities and social enterprises in the local area. We do this through specialist advice, networks, funding and as a trusted source of information – that’s where you could come in.

We’re looking for someone to join our friendly and collaborative team. Someone that can get the right information to the right people so that local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations get the support they need to thrive.

It’s a brilliant way to use your creative skills to make a difference πŸ™Œ

You asked, we listened! πŸ’š

At our Health and Wellbeing Network, lots of our brilliant member organisations told us they'd love some Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training for their staff and volunteers. We were only too happy to make it happen!

We were lucky enough to welcome Ian Noonan, who brought a huge amount of experience from his work as a psychiatric nurse consultant with the NHS, along with a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in having meaningful conversations that can make a real difference.

The session was engaging, informative and full of practical tips, and it was wonderful to see so many people taking part and sharing their experiences. Even better, the feedback was absolutely fantastic!

A huge thank you to Ian and to everyone who joined us and helped make the session such a success.

If you'd like to see what other training opportunities and events we have coming up, head over to the events page on our website – we'd love to see you there!
