The second round of the Crisis and Resilience Fund is now open for applications on our website: www.one-community.org.uk

VCSE organisations may apply for up to £10,000 for activity that strengthens partnership working, referral pathways and the accessibility of local support.

Looking for something new?

Our small, passionate team is looking for philanthropy manager to support us in the continued growth of One Community Foundation.

This role will be responsible for building and managing a high-quality pipeline of prospective supporters, with a strong emphasis on major gift fundraising, high-value relationship development and legacy conversations, ensuring donors are supported to give in ways that deliver lasting impact.

This is a part-time role for an initial 18-month contract.

Growing Impact from the Ground Up 🌱

What happens when relatively small amounts of funding are invested in the right place, with the right people, at the right time?

Real, lasting community impact.

Our latest blog takes us to Cowcliffe Community Recreation Area, where support from the Thornton Family Fund has helped transform an underused space into a greener, more welcoming place for local people.

Since 2020, the project has:
🌱 Restored green space and created a community food-growing area
🌳 Improved biodiversity and access
🤝 Engaged around 2,200 people
🙌 Involved 20 volunteers and generated around 2,000 volunteer hours
💚 Created opportunities for connection, skills development and community ownership

It’s a great example of how local investment can go much further than the initial grant. Creating opportunities, strengthening communities and leaving a lasting legacy.

We believe the people closest to their communities are often best placed to know where investment can make the greatest difference.

Do you have a project that could help reduce carbon emissions, improve sustainability, tackle fuel poverty, enhance biodiversity, or make your community greener?

The Bright Green Community Trust is now accepting applications for grants of up to £3,000 from charities, community groups, schools, CICs, CASCs and other not-for-profit organisations across the Holme Valley Parish and Graveship of Holme.

Whether you're planning:
✅ A community food growing project
✅ Energy efficiency improvements
✅ Renewable energy installations
✅ Sustainability education programmes
✅ Biodiversity and conservation projects
✅ Pollution reduction initiatives
✅ Solar panels, EV charging points, bike charging facilities, or other carbon-reduction schemes

BGCT is looking to support local projects that make a real environmental impact.

Previous grants have helped fund solar panels, LED lighting upgrades, insulation projects, environmental education programmes, e-cargo bikes, community gardens and more.
