This year’s theme is building carer-friendly communities. At Carers Count, we deliver a wide range of projects and services that help make our communities more carer-friendly, including:

↪️ Our Carers Count Employers project, supporting employers to better understand unpaid carers in the workforce and how to effectively support them. Read about it here: https://f.mtr.cool/krgiegseed

↪️ Our work with GP surgeries and healthcare professionals across Kirklees, Calderdale and Barnsley, raising awareness of unpaid carers and the support available to them.

↪️ Our Carers Count Mental Health Service, part of the Working Together Better Partnership in Kirklees, supporting people with mental ill health within their communities. Click here to learn about it: https://f.mtr.cool/wjzquvexga

Last week, we got together to celebrate our brilliant Carers Count volunteers with a soap-making session at S2R Create Space. We had a great time creating some beautiful hand-made soaps!

Thanks again to our volunteers for all their hard work and dedication to the service. 💚

We’re all set up at Greenhead Park to celebrate Carers Week with our Carers Get Together event in partnership with S2R Create Space The Great Outdoors Project. We’re joined by lots of local organisations and partners from the Working Together Better Partnership to tell you all about the support available for unpaid carers across Kirklees.

Don’t let the wind and weather put you off – we’ve got plenty of tea and coffee to keep you warm, along with a range of activities including meditation, creative sessions, a mindful walk around the park, and information and advice for carers. We’d love to see you there!

Who's joining us at the Carers Together Event tomorrow in partnership with S2R Create Space?

We are proud to share that we have been awarded funding from the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Family, Friends and Carers Matter Fund to deliver our annual Carers Get Together.

Joanne Green, Director of Operations at Cloverleaf Advocacy, said: "We’re incredibly grateful to the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Family, Friends and Carers Matter Fund for their support in making this community-based project possible.

This is such important work. Unpaid carers give their time freely and without hesitation, and our aim is to bring people together to recognise and support them. Our partners will be on hand to offer a warm welcome, provide expert advice, share experiences and offer valuable support.

There will also be a range of enjoyable activities and refreshments for everyone, making it a truly special day – all made possible thanks to this generous funding.”

Partners from the Working Together Better Partnership will also be in attendance.
