Here it is! Our appearance on BBC Breakfast! Thanks so much to John Ba who agreed to do this at very short notice and to Jennifer Hawksby for signing him up way back in 2019, as announced on national TV by the man himself 😂
Which of the fixing gang and which of your items can you spot in the photo and video clips? We sent them LOTS of pictures- a few of our fixers had lucky escapes!
Richard Byrne and John had a fabulous time, a very jolly way to start International Repair Day with Fiona Dear from The Restart Project, who do so much to raise the profile of repair, and campaign to make more of our electricals repairable.
In case anyone wondered, celebrity gossip and all that, Naga and Charlie were both absolutely lovely, on and off camera. ❤
Thanks also to our friends at Slawit Repair Cafe whose Repair Day we were supposed to be helping set up while we were swanning round the BBC in Salford.
We'll be back at S2R Create Space, where the fixing feel-good magic happens for real at November 2026 Huddersfield Repair Cafe - As seen on BBC Breakfast! on Saturday November 14th- See you then!

Ah what fun with had at the September Repair Cafe, our fabric fixers joined by three splendid volunteers from Thread Republic, joining us as part of their month of activity for Sustainable Fashion September. Take a look at their page to see what they've got coming up- their pop up shop, mending socials, a film screening with Electric Theatre Cinema, they've got all sorts planned.

It was so lovely for our fabric crew to have some mending company! We usually only have one or two fabric fixers and we'd love some more. So if you'd like to come down and help 'em out they'd love to meet you. Just come on down and say hello!
Our next Huddersfield Repair Cafe will be second Saturday in October- that's October 10th 11 am until 2.30pm at S2R Create Space

Textile repair alert ! Announcing some special guests joining us for our September Repair Cafe at S2R Create Space, we'll have a rotating cast of sewing fixers joining us from our friends at Thread Republic
They're busy busy promoting all things sustainable in fashion this month for Sustainable Fashion September with workshops, clothes swaps and the return of their fabrics store.
So give them a lovely Huddersfield Repair Cafe welcome by bringing down clothes and other fabrics in need of some TLC ❤
