A double win this evening with both the Crusaders and Comets in action.

At home the Comets took on Slaithwaite in a very close game in all aspects, resulting in a nail biting last over and only 1 run separating the end result. 😬

The Crusaders didn’t have far to travel and played the Almondbury Wes ladies. Another close game, winning by only 11 runs.

A good evening all around.

A close game with the Crusaders against a very strong Holmfirth side. Holmfirth took the win but we can definitely be pleased with the performance, pushing them so close.

We faced some very strong bowling, but Claire did well with the runs to come out on top scoring 13 off 13 with 2 boundaries.

We fielded really well, one of the strongest performances so far this season. Taking 11 wickets - Bobbie 3, Emma 2, Catherine, Jo and Sarah taking 1 a piece. Along with 3 well fielded run outs. 👏🏼 Some great boundary stops too.

So plenty of positives this evening.

More games this week still to come with both a Division 2 Crusaders game away at the Wes and the U13s girls at home against Slaithwaite.

Another good tournament for the Comets this evening. 💫 2 wins and 1 loss

The Crusaders were on the wrong side of the result this morning after a good game with the Thurstonland ladies.

We fielded first and only managed to take 2 wickets - Bobbie with a great caught and bowled and an LBW from Emily, but the Thurstonland batters were strong.

An opposite story with the bat as too many wickets were lost. Mel doing well with the runs, scoring 15 off 13 balls.

We go again and the next game is on Tuesday against Holmfirth.

A strong win for the Comets this evening as they visited Mirfield this evening.

We fielded first and all the hard work in training paid off as we showed one of our strongest bowling performances, taking 12 wickets - some girls picking up several wickets each along with a first league wicket for one of the girls 👏🏼 We were tight in the field and didn’t give the batters many chances to pick up too many runs.

Mirfield fought back with some strong bowlers themselves and took some wickets but we batted well, finding the boundary as well as running the singles and a couple of risky 2s!

A great performance all around topped off with a birthday in the squad - which meant the half time donuts were in full flow.

A very blustery game this evening, but thankfully the rain held and a good game was played.

The Crusaders batted first and the first pair of Holly and Jo got us off to a strong start with Holly managing to get 26 off 15 (including 2 huge 6s) 👏🏼

Finishing as a team on 337

Slaithwaite fought back straight away with the bat with their opener scoring 48 off 20 balls!!

But the Crusaders fielded well and the bowlers did what they needed to taking 8 wickets - Holly bagging 3, Bobbie 2 and Emily and Catherine with 1 each. A great run out from Mel behind the stumps. 👏🏼

A great team effort all around and a good game.

Games coming thick and fast in Div 1 with 2 more upcoming within the next week. 🏏

Well done to the Comets who came away with a win against the Moorland girls this morning.

A strong performance with the bat, with our top 2 scorers getting 29 and 20 runs 👏🏼 finding the boundary plenty of times.

We only managed the 1 wicket today but it came at the right time in the last over when it was much needed.

Well done Comets, only a few days and we are back in Mirfield for our next game on Friday.

There is a theme this season and the Crusaders continued that theme with another nail biter, taking it down to the last ball and managing to secure the win by 1 run! 😬

It was a good game with the Lascelles Hall ladies. Fielding highlights included wickets from Clare, Emma, Jo and Isabelle.

Then with the bat Charlie taking the lead with 16 runs 👏🏼

It was a good team effort all around but special mention has to go to the bowlers of the last few overs who stayed calm and bowled well to pinch a couple of much needed wickets.

The U11 tournaments are back!! 🏏

What a great start to the festivals - 44 girls playing cricket at Thurstonland in the opening festival. 👏🏼

The Comets took a team of 6 and managed to pick up 2 out of 3 wins 🙌🏻

Any nerves soon turned to smiles once they got going and it was great to see the confidence growing as the games progressed.

It was nice to see some of girls playing in their first ever games.

We bagged some wickets, hit some boundaries and fielded well.

Well done to the squad and we look forward to the next one.

A very close game for the Comets this morning against the Outlane girls.

Needing 2 off the last ball was just not achievable this morning.

Our last pair needed more than 40 runs when they went in, so to say they managed to get it down to needing 2 to draw shows how well they did.

Outlane were a very strong bowling side and took too many of our wickets today, but we batted well and fought back, just to fall short.

It was definitely our most competitive game of the season so far and an exciting end for the spectators.

Plenty of boundaries to cheers and we took some nice wickets ourselves so plenty of positives and nice to see elements of our training sessions coming through to the games.

Heads up girls, we go again! 🏏
